Editorial Reviews

Review

"I like how Hello, my name is Emily is about Emily's personal life. She doesn't get along with her mother and I sure can identify with that! I like reading about her friend Alex too, who is also in Daredevils. He reminds me of a boy my friend StarLynn is secretly in love with. Like Alex, he plays hockey, too. Me and StarLynn go to all his games but he never even notices us! My favourite part of the book is when Alex tries to help Emily after she goes to meet the man in the park. I'm going to recommend this book to all my friends."--Molly, age 13

From the Author

Hello, my name is Emily is the second book in my Northview Tales series, which features kids coming of age in the fictional city of Northview. The main theme, Internet safety, is based on an incident that happened when I was teaching Grade 8. After writing Daredevils, I got a flood of emails from kids saying they wanted to read more about Alex, one of the main characters in the book, so he's in Hello, my name is Emily, and you'll also see him in Charlie's Song; although his brother, Mateo, has a greater role there.
