Entangling: Book One of the Kirin Lane Series Paperback – November 21, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
Can she find her mother’s killer? Or will he find her first?
When Kirin Lane’s father dies, it means nothing to her. Why should it? It’s been thirty years since he abandoned her after her mother’s death. But when her house is ransacked and sinister men pursue her, Kirin is forced to look to the only thing he left her for answers—a tattered Marine Corps field manual.
Inside, she discovers clues that could unlock the mystery surrounding her mother’s murder, if only she can follow the cryptic information. She finds an ally in the charming and mysterious Sam Neal, who both infuriates and awakens feelings she can’t resist. But can she trust him?
Sam Neal is determined not to fall for Kirin. He can’t. It’s a clause in his contract, and he never breaks a promise. But he knows too much about her. Her strength and sexy pigheadedness drive him crazy in the best of ways. Suddenly, Sam’s thinking less about obligations and more about allowing a certain woman inside his world.
But with nothing as it appears and her life on the line, can Kirin untangle what really happened to her mother thirty years ago?
Or will the killer’s next victim be her?

Review
The reaon I reflected on the writing challenges is because I read 25 books a month! This novel captured my attention immediately and I knew I had to discover what the hell was going on!
The person of Sam was made to be a protector but also a duplicitous person with a shadowy nature!
Kirin was a small women who was pretty, strong, resilient and stubborn! She was so precious and sweet, but had this reckless mindset that frequently just made matters worse! Situational awareness was not in her nature! She also had tendency to humilate herself with nervous bumbling around a certain someone.... she supposedly hated, but loved at the same time! She was so much fun as a beautiful but flawed woman in terrifying circumstaces! Thank god Sam was always there to lift her up and save her muultiple times!
The quesfion become painfully obvious; is Sam a good guy or very bad man!
The reader knows and all the other characters aren't in on the answer!
The other charecters are well developed and delightful! This is one of the best first novels I've read!
Congratulations to Kelley Griffin, but also the readers who are enriched by reading Entangled!
I immediately purchased the next book in the series which is an extention of the first! A duet yes, but Entangled was a complete book. I knew the story continued but readers have a satisfying ending to the book, which was not predicated on reading the next book! But readers you will undoubtedly want to rush to get the next book Untangled!
5 stars for a compelling plotline, romance and well written manuscript!

About the author

Kelley Griffin is an author, mom to five sons, wife to a marine and a teacher to tiny humans. She pens Romantic Suspense and YA Suspense stories with rich characters and nonstop action. Look for her current books: Binding Circumstance, Entangling; Book One of the Kirin Lane Series, A Mind Unequal; Book One of the Casey King Series, Unraveling; Book Two of the Kirin Lane Series, and Taken for Granted, a new YA series made up of four serialized novellas.
When she's not barricaded in her office writing you can find Kelley playing cards, inhaling campfires and acting goofy.

5 stars for a compelling plotline, romance and well written manuscript!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2019I received an ARC (advanced reader's copy) in exchange for an honest review.
This novel is a perfect blend of mystery and romance. You'll love how these two elements are interwoven throughout the story as Kirin struggles to piece together the riddle of her father's life and questions her ability to allow herself to love again after her husband's death.
Griffin's ability to create intriguing and credible characters is what brings her stories to life. She knows intuitively how to portray each one in such a way that they are so human, and thus endearing.
Shut the world out if you can and take the plunge into Kirin's world. You won't regret it!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2021This book had just what I was looking for; fast-paced suspense, romance, and a strong lead character. It pulled me in quickly and the plot and twists made it hard to put down. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it had been a little longer. I really liked the characters and the plot but it had so much going on and so many characters and events to tie together that it almost seemed a bit rushed at times. Given the complexity of the storyline, I feel like the book would have gone from very good to next level had the situations and clues been given a little more time to unfold, making them more believable. Some events and connections just seemed to happen unnaturally fast.
Overall, I found this to be a very entertaining read and am looking forward to starting book 2 right now!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2019I was given an ARC for a honest review. Entangling was everything and so much more. Kelley truly delivered a heroine that was badass and yet that had the soft side. I loved the characters and every facet of them from the good, the bad, and the ugly. Kelley has a way of making her imperfect characters truly perfect. So if you are ready to meet Sam and Kirin then I urge you to read this book, Kelley delivers a story with epic proportions of heart, grit and intensity.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020It has been a long time since I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning devouring a book. Entangling was SO MUCH FUN! a are great strong female character, a little love (clean) some murder (not gross) and a fun quick and easy summer read was exactly what my Quarantine self was wanting to read! I I highly recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2023I saw some other reviews, and I'm going to say this...I read for enjoyment and I don't nitpick the possibility of it all!!
This one sucked me in from the start. Just needed to know, was Sam a good guy or bad? What really was the deal with her Dad?
Met the author in Lenoir City, TN and chatted a bit. Love her types of books, a even better when I live where they are based!! Score!! And now....on to book 2
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2023I was able to figure out who Saul was going to be, but I liked the build up and mystery surrounding the marine book.
