About the author

Jacquie Biggar is an award-winning author of romance who has been listed on USA Today's bestseller list. Her writing is centered around tough, alpha male characters who fall for strong and independent contemporary women. She resides on Vancouver Island with her husband and would love to hear from readers worldwide!
In her own words:
"My name is Jacquie Biggar. When I'm not being a klutz, I'm a wife, a mother of one, a grandmother, and a butler to my calico cat. One of my guilty pleasures is watching reality TV shows such as The Voice and Amazing Race. Every Monday night, you can find me laughing at the judge's shenanigans as I'm plastered to my armchair. I love hanging out with my husband at the beach, taking pictures, and reading romance novels (what else?). I have a slight obsession with Tim Hortons, enjoy gardening, everything pink, and talking to my friends."

- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2020Trace and Mona are both single parents with teenage daughters and history that goes back to their dating years in high school. Trace made the mistake of cheating on Mona with Sally, now his ex-wife. In a small town, paths cross and gossip flies. When Mona decides to run for Mayor against Trace, life becomes even more complicated, especially as these two struggle to navigate underlying feelings for each other.
This is a sweet romance with engaging characters set in a charming town. Of special mention, Trace and Mona’s daughters, Bailey and Amber, provide a secondary plot line that shines every bit as brightly as the first. The ending is superb, providing the perfect HEA you’d expect from a story like this. A winner all the way around!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2023After reading “Sweetheart Cove,” I wondered about a single dad, Trace, and a single mom, Mona. Both were minor characters in the other book, but their attraction shone through, even if it was from dating in high school, so I was glad to see they were the main characters in “Sunset Beach.” Although there seems to be an attraction, Mona holds back the information of who is the father of her daughter while Trace focuses on his job as the mayor and raising a teen. Their daughters, Samantha and Beth, are best friends, forcing the two to interact more than they are comfortable with. I enjoyed revisiting this island, seeing how Jacob and Josie were doing, and discovering if Trace and Mona could work through their confused past. This is a quick, fun read for romance fans.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2020A most interesting story that covers Mona's and Trace's relationship. Can an 'old' love be rekindled later in life?
Taking place in Sweetheart Cove...a small town...this novel has some secrets within the pages. Toss in a little gossip to stir things up..
Found it to be a clean romance which I enjoyed.
Will read more by this author.. She has a firm grasp on human nature which I always appreciate.
Most highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2020I usually like Jacquie's stories. I bought SB when it came out, and read it a couple of days ago. As I read it, I thought there was something missing. Since I had Sweatheart Cove from 2018, I read it again. In it, Mona's daughter was Samantha, not Amber and Trace's daughter was Beth not Bailey. Jacob knew who the father was in SC, but not in SB. There were more, but I didn't write them all down. I don't like reading serial stories where the author can not keep their own stories consistent.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2020Trace and Mona were so in love in high school until Trace got drunk at prom and spoiled Sally moved in on him. I was so glad to hear that Trace and Sally were no longer married. But I did feel bad for his daughter Bailey whose mother didn’t want her. Now Trace is trying to raise a teenager by himself and work as mayor. Mona still lives on the island with her teenager daughter Amber. The funny thing is that Amber and Bailey are best friends even though Amber is a couple of years older. I loved how Amber is so mature and does so much to help Bailey. I felt bad for Trace and Mona as I could tell they both had feelings for the other. Mona hasn’t let go of her pain of what Trace did to her at prom. I loved how Trace and Mona get thrown together a lot. There are secrets that come out too. I really enjoyed the book and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021Can and old love become a new love now. Single parents Trace and Mona with teen age children. The girls are best friends,,can a family happen. Secrets from past and busy life style may not let them. Cute story.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2020Mona Samuels knows how hard it is to raise a daughter as she is a single mom to Amber. Trace Michaels has his hands full raising a teen daughter Bailey who is about to hit the age of sixteen and thinks she should be able to make her own decisions. As their daughters are best friends even though Mona’s daughter is two years older, she is there for both girls so when any problems come up, she turns to Mona for help. Mona is secretly planning on running against Trace for Mayor as his ex-wife had opened a health spa on some prime beach property, even though the town was against it, and she wants to get the town back to the clean quiet Blue Haven it used to be. Secrets are revealed but will it destroy everything she has been working so hard for.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2020I think that small town, second chance stories are the most romantic, and Sunset Beach is the best! The characters: Mona, and Trace as ex-high school lovers and their daughters Amber and Bailey, are so well developed that you will love them. In a small town you cannot escape, and Trace keeps running into Mona even 18 years after they fell in love in high school and he cheated on her. They cannot move on even after he marries and divorces the girl he cheated on her with. And then she decides to run against him for mayor. Of course, his ex-wife is still around to complicate matters. The result is a warm, fun and very romantic escapade in a great northwestern island town. And Mona's big secret may eventually be revealed. The dialog is snappy and the conflict between Trace and Mona is fun. I volunteered to read and review an early copy and I loved it!
