Her storytelling gift is poetic and stellar. She along with a dozen more black authors are magnificent at their craft and I look forward to reading all they have. This series in particular is breathtaking. Keeps you wondering how deep the gifts of the characters go and how their gifts effects their lives good or bad. The stories keeps you at the edge of your seat and allows you the opportunity to have self reflection and looking at life from different perspectives. She did have to let go of some old baggage though. I had already enjoyed the 1st book about Zola & Khalil & was glad to see in this 2nd book Zena found her soulmate in Rafe. Learning more about Zoe being wise and having a "clearer vision" beyond her years. I really wanna know the backstory about what happened with their mom Zora & dad. Oh the Women of Z.. Good read!

    Zena was the older of two sisters. Her sister has a lover but Zena and her daughter are unsure of who he is. Zena wants love because her marriage to her daughter's dad ended in divorce. Her trust in men lacked much because her ex had been a liar and had children outside of their marriage.
