OWLS ON THE BONNET Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

When nineteen year old Lucinda married a man more than twice her age she considered those who openly derided the marriage, saying it wasn't right and it wouldn't last, to be jealous and bitter - because James was a very wealthy man and she was only the daughter of the village tart. Lucinda proved them all wrong when the marriage lasted very happily for fifteen years. Until the age difference that had never meant anything to her, or James, suddenly turned into a gaping chasm filled with the word dementia! Lucinda tried her best to look after James at home, but sadly he became filled with an anger that made him react violently towards her and she had to give in and let him go into a nursing home. It was at the nursing home Lucinda was introduced to Mark Richardson, vicar of St Matthews church and chaplain to the nursing home, and she found her life suddenly turned into a turmoil of loving two men. While Mark was fighting the beliefs of the collar at his neck and The Ten Commandments his calling made clear should never be broken.

Hello readers,

I am Janet Scaife, a grandma who still feels 31 inside her head. I began writing way back in the 90s and won The Romantic Novelists Association UK, New Writer of the Year 1991 for my first romance novel, The Perfect Pirate published by Robert Hale. I wrote another romance, then turned to family sagas published by Transworld, until ill health got the better of me and made the physical act of writing difficult.

In 2014 I decided it was time I started again. If James Bond could say Never Say Never, so could I! I began writing again and didn't stop until APHRODITE'S CHILD was finished. I quickly went on to CASANOVA'S, followed by The One Meant to Last and Owls on the Bonnet. I have just finished my fifth book in four years, a regional saga set in Derbyshire, not yet published, and number six is already spinning round inside my head.

I am a psychic medium and have experienced things others would think strange as far back as I can remember. I like to use this part of me in my stories.

I live in Derbyshire in the UK, a beautiful county very close to my heart with its landscape of hills and craggy outcrops.

I feel returning to writing has put me back where I belong and I hope all who read my books get the same enjoyment I get from writing them.

I can be contacted on twitter or at janetscaife496@gmail.com

Owls on the Bonnet by Janet Scaife is about a marriage with a major age difference. It was interesting and moved a little slow.
