Endeared (The Accidental Billionaires Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 6,852 ratings

There’s no such thing as a casual romance in this unforgettable Accidental Billionaires novel by New York Times bestselling author J. S. Scott.

After finishing a hard-won medical residency, Owen Sinclair now lives his dream as a family physician. The windfall that brought him newfound wealth has also made handsome Dr. Sinclair the town’s most eligible bachelor. But Owen’s eyes are on Layla, his onetime best friend, his clinic’s dedicated nurse practitioner, and the one woman in Citrus Beach who has no interest in either his body or his billions.

In high school, Owen and Layla were always there for each other. Layla could confess almost anything to him. But wanting more than friendship was a confession too far, and Layla’s teenage longing was crushed in a heartbeat.

Two buried hurts are now in need of mending, and Owen has a proposition—if Layla is game. It’s a matter of trust as they discover so much more about the past, each other, and themselves. It’s not too late. Maybe they can make up for lost time. A love this true is worth the wait.

Lovely Friends to Lovers Story

Lovely Friends to Lovers Story
This is the last stand-alone book in the Accidental Billionaires series and my first J.S. Scott book. I read this one so fast! It was really cute and pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it. I was a little hesitant based on how it started - I just get annoyed when a book starts out with friends to enemies based on one of the best friends making an assumption and allowing that to destroy a friendship without even having a discussion or letting the other individual know they are upset. And then holding onto that for 10 years to then find out the assumption was incorrect. While that piece had me unsure, the eventual friends to lovers part of the story won me over. Owen and Layla’s falling in love had me swooning and emotional. There were many ups and downs - my heart hurt for Layla. I was so unsure on how I was going to feel about her past that she was hiding from Owen. When she finally revealed her vulnerabilities it killed me. Owen and Layla had been best friends in high school. Layla devastated her and 2 best friends leaving to go to college thousands of miles away.. and not to mention she believes Owen has done something so mean to her that she cuts ties with him immediately. Fast forward 10 years, Layla works in the practice Owen, the overnight billionaire doctor, just purchased - Layla’s grudge still holding on. Now they are forced to face the past and move forward together. It was a sweet story and it really shines light to how destructive depression and thoughts of suicide are to an individual. If those types of themes are upsetting to you, this might not be a read you want to dive into. It’s raw and emotional at times and I definitely enjoyed it.

I knew when I finished reading Noah an Andie's story I had to read Owen's story. Owen Sinclair is the gorgeous, wealthy green eyed adorable, caring younger brother of Noah, Seth, Aiden and the twins Jade and Brooke. Did I say that he is Dr. Owen Sinclair. Owen bought the clinic of a retiring doctor in Citrus Beach ⛱️ where he grew up. Layla Caine is Owen and Andie's best friend at least she was until the second half of their Senior year. Owen and Andie went across country to Boston to go to school and Layla stayed in California. Layla wants nothing to do with Owen and he has no idea why and she won't tell him. Eventually he learns her secret and 💕 love blossoms. I liked that Jaxton Montgomery was in this story, because he definitely made Owen jealous. I believe that this was the best of series. I have read so many of Jan's 📚📖. I read all of the East coast Sinclairs. Vi definitely like that Evan is spoken so highly of because when he first was introduced in the East coast Sinclairs story I didn't like him so much. Owen Sinclair and Layla Caine grew up poor in Citrus Beach. Now when the story begins Owen is the most eligible bachelor in Citrus Beach. Owen Sinclair is gorgeous on the outside but he is even more beautiful on the inside. He changed his clinic to one where those who could not afford to go to a clinic could. He was helped to bring his vision to life with the help of his brother in law Eli Stone and his sister Jade and all of his brothers. I loved reading this book 📚📖 from beginning to end and I give it five ⭐ Stars. I recommend Endeared and encourage you to purchase it and let J.S. Scott show you why she is one of my favorite authors.

J.S. Scott has few equals when it comes to billionaire romance. Her glimpses into the worlds of the über rich give you a tantalizing look into how the one percenters live. However what I love most is her characters are genuine, likeable and pretty down to earth regardless of their wealth. They love. They hurt. They get angry. They make mistakes. Add to that the strong family ties she weaves into every story really resonates.

Owen Sinclair has been so busy becoming a doctor that he's never has time to adjust to being a billionaire. Afterall, the don't have billionaire school. Layla Caine has been career focused since graduating college and hasn't had much time for anything else. They were best friends in high school and both had secret crushes on the other. Now ten years later they rekindle their feelings but not before revealing secrets from their pasts. But never fear, there's definitely an HEA in store for them.

I listened on the way to work. Read some too. As always a touching book that show how you can overcome and find happiness. I would have given 5 stars but the reason she was mad at him was kinda dumb. Oh well good ending to the series. Going to have to see if Jax has a book

Endeared is one of the best books I've read in a while. I have loved J.S. Scott's Billionaire Series from the first book and each can be read as a stand-alone, but I can honestly say Owen and Layla's story has touched me the most. It's a Second Chance romance that started with a decade of Hurt that slowly morphs into a story of Heart and Humor. Layla has had a hard life, but the most crushing event in her life was the devastating betrayal by her best friend Owen. A betrayal that has haunted her for a decade now, so the last thing she wants is to be working with him now at the clinic she loves. Owen is the new Doctor in town and just happens to also be part of the West Coast Sinclair Family that are newly minted Billionaires. He's returned home and has bought out the local medical clinic where his one time best friend Layla works as a Nurse Practitioner - too bad she still hates him for some unknown reason. He's wondered for the last decade what he did to turn Layla against him. After a lifetime of struggling to get the things he wants, Owen is no less persistent in wanting to get the answers to what happened to his friendship withLayla. Does he dare hope for more with Layla? Can Layla risk her Heart again when she realizes that Owen didn't betray her after all? Come along on their journey as they get to know each other again, and learn that sometimes second chances really do make dreams come true. **Fair warning that this is the story of two childhood friends who did not have the easiest of childhoods, who grew into young adults with even harder teen years, but eventually beat all the odds. *

I have really been enjoying J.S.Scott's Accidental Billionaires series with this book five about the youngest Sinclair son Owen finding his "one and only" in a long time friend from high school Layla Caine. Great story about a second chance at love as well as friendship. Layla and Owen had a falling out just prior to high school graduation and have lost their way from the great friendship they once had. After Owen graduated from medical school and college he returned to his hometown of Citrus Beach, California. Owen and his other siblings had a very tough childhood and and it was incredibly poor, hard work, but was raised by his older brothers who all worked at keeping the family together and not in foster homes. Things changed for them dramatically and they found out through circumstances that they were all billionaires. Owen returned to buy a medical practice where his long time friend Layla Caine was now working as a nurse practitioner. Layla's life was also a struggle, no money, father who abandoned her, and an abusive mother which caused other events in her life. Great story about their struggles, love, insecurities, and so much more as they learned about each other, themselves and how to relax and enjoy not only each other buy learn about how to relax and enjoy life and each other. Great story I cannot wait for what you have next for us!

This book was okay, but I won’t be reading any more of this author’s work. The plot was obvious, the characters were too completely bad or good, and the inner dialogues we’re repetitious and kind of boring. I considered abandoning it several times, and I’m still not sure I should have finished it.

Love this series. Let’s be honest all JS Scott’s series. This last book was awesome. Owen and Layla were my favourites as they moved past their issues fast. Naturally the advice from family that had been through similar issues helped fast track this couple. Loved the ending that updated where all the couples in the family were at. Looking forward to the rest of the Montgomery’s now.

Another great story about the Sinclair family who if you’ve read the preceding books will know the story about the two branches of them . This story is about one of the Sinclairs that grew up in poverty that became billionaires over night . Dr Owen Sinclair is now a fully qualified Doctor and has returned to the area where he grew up to follow his dream of becoming a family doctor and has just taken over a family practice from the current Doctor who’s just retired . Working at the family practice as the Nurse Practitioner is Layla a girl he grew up with and up until the time that he left for medical school was best friends with . Something happened between them and Owen has no idea what ,but Is determined to get to the bottom of it which of course he does . As with all Jan’s books you get sucked in from page one , the story flows well, but there are quite serious issues raised are addressed . All these issues seem to result from what Layla had to endure being brought up in what you could only describe as a horrible , abusive, soul destroying ,toxic home environment . It really is a charming love story which leads to one fantastic conclusion ❤️❤️.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book. Loved all of the Sinclair's.

I know it’s the end of the Sinclair a. Am I sad? Yep in a huge way, but am I excited about her next books? Absolutely. Owen was just a character all in his own. The youngest of the “other” Sinclair a, the brainy one and the one who seemed to need to do more. I loved how he took control of his other best friend, Andie when she was ill. But this is about his other best friend, Layla. It was heartbreaking to hear about her childhood but I was thankful that J S Scott brought up the subject of depression. How it affects people, the end that some people think is the best way out. It was done with passion and knowledge and so sensitively with making a mockery of it. Owen and Layla were always meant to be together but I guess like most they just needed their hiccups in life to bring them to the point where they could officially be together. I loved the whole story. I am so looking forward to reading about the Montgomery’s.
