Note from the Author:

As I looked forward to creating another tale for my favorite hero, Topaz, the Yellow Conjure Cat, I suddenly developed a crippling case of writer's block. This was a bit distressing, as I had promised my granddaughter, Cait, I'd have a new story to share with her in time for our next visit together.

A day or two later I received a letter from Cait. Inside was a word document with one paragraph typed in large black letters. The paragraph described a critical situation and introduced a new character - a young white fawn named Daisy.

The second page of the letter was a piece of lined paper that had been torn from a spiral notebook. It read: "Dear Nannies, I'm not sure what to say next, so I want you to finish it for me." This had been written with a fine point marker in purple, Cait's favorite color. She'd signed her name as Caitlin and drawn a huge purple heart to the left of her signature.

Yes, you guessed it! Here was the plot for Topaz's second great adventure.

My girl's lover this series and it was memorable read in paperback as well as this repeat read on Kindle.
This is a lovely children's story, with the age suggestion of about 8-12 years old. It is well written, and jam-packed full of excitement. The little fairies in the story are adorable, and I think children will appreciate the well-placed illustrations used along the way. The magical land Frayne creates has already been visited as this book is part of a series, so plenty more for children to get their teeth into if they enjoy this installment. A great fantasy fiction to encourage the use of imagination at such an important age. This will make book reports more fun and the ideas for writing the report fly off the page. Truly a great way to encourage kids to read.

This is a great kids book. It is the third book in a series, and a good length for them to really get involved in. Kids love the escapism of fantasy stories, and that's exactly what Frayne has laid out in Topaz and the Green Fairies - a full blown magical fantasy adventure. The main character is a fairy named Bozel, who I think children will find to be a very likeable character. This little hero sets out on a big adventure to try and save his village from devastation. Along the way he makes new friends who will help him on his journey. A great story from start to finish.

I found this book to be very comprehensive for a children's story. There is a great deal of character development and lots of mystical creatures introduced to keep the reader interested. What I like most about this author is the creativity she uses in describing the far away land of Knownotten. I was happy to get lost there myself, so I can imagine it is a great story that children can easily pick up and enjoy. It would suit fantasy fans, and those that like books about magic and wonder.
