About the author

Stephanie Albright grew up in Amanda, Ohio. In 1986 she went to Mississippi for the summer and never went back. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a degree in Paralegal Studies and has a Masters in Education from Western Governors University. She loves history, travel, and food, not necessarily in that order. Words have always been her passion, either reading or writing. She now lives in Alabama with a small flock of chickens and a very angry cat, who enjoys being outside almost as much as she does. Other than reading and writing, she loves gardening and learning about plants, and drinking coffee on the porch.
She is the author of several published novels and one short story.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2021I could not put this book down. The main character of Sophie is one of strength, courage and compassion. The other supporting characters are equally strong and memorable. The story itself set in a post-apocalyptic world after an EMP attack kept my attention continually and I didn’t want it to end. Can’t wait to read what’s happens next.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2021The book was decent. There were grammatical errors. I instead of I'll. Little stuff. What got me was the book was lacking in details, and was straight into the emp diagnosis on the first page. Very rushed writing. Months went by with no detailsif how tough life was, her thoughts about missing her husband. She seemed unemotional about much of anything.

t balance of instruction and fiction. Fabulous read! Can't wait to read the rest of the series and would love to meet the author someday!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2023I enjoyed the book and noticed that it lacked any emotion even when death was part of the story. I'll try the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2022Action filled fact based and plenty of drama. Maybe light on the violence but the story and characters are first rate. Certain you will enjoy this as i did
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2023Enjoyable to the unfinished ending. The author forget to explain the events of several major characters. It made the transition very confusing involving Oliver, Tom, Amanda and Kim being folded into the series. It would be nice to have a novella to explain it all.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022This story moves along pretty quickly. From the beginning Sophie has a good head on her shoulders. Her adventures lead her to a better life. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2022I love this story. I just wish it would've started with a little more background. I had no idea who this person was until the note was being read. I can't wait to start book two.
