    This answers so many questions and ties up a couple of stories. We learn more about Zach and his relationship with team Panther. His relationship with Marc Colgon.

    We see the relationship between Marc and Zach grow and evolve.

    This like always continues with the underlying stories from All the previous books .

    Marc and Zach have history. Seal buddies together, best friends for years, until the untimely death of Marc's wife, while Zach was watching out for her.

    They both blame Zach and can't let it go. Can they work it out to be together finally?

    I love this series, so maybe the title summary shouldn’t have put me off so much. The catch 22 here is Zach & Marc’s history starts as swim buddies and built as teammates, yet as a SEAL and best friend Marc continues to hostilely blame Zack for a suicide bomber not just in moment but for years was a hard pill. Never got a real feel for Jeanette from Zach or Marc (considering his grief level alittle better understanding of their relationship would have been helpful) Marc isn’t one of my favorites but I can appreciate him.
    There are a lot snarky one liner’s that could be easily pasted over but have significant meaning.
    The gruff, witty banter and over the top antics are a perfect ice breaker for seriousness of Special Ops - even the canines & kids have bold personalities
    I love the inclusion of characters built over the series, to not just a HEA blurb but to continue to see them live, grow and interact as families and teammates IMHO is much more satisfying. If you read in the author’s order (see AS website Read Order page) it’s quite an operator’s universe.
    The overall story of espionage with a mob connection is fact paced and falls into a bigger picture of deep seeded, greedy bad guys who slipped through the cracks and wreak havoc wherever they go. Zach’s back story explains not only his paranoid of cameras but his loyalty and concern.
    🔥From here on spoilers….

    Krystal is on the ranch bc she & Zeke have a kid and Zeke wants to be in his kid’s life. Poor Axel, his sister is going to break his heart, let’s hope he & Cas stay solid. It’s not going to be easy being in crosshairs of the Krystal shite storm of drug dealing, traitorous terrorist, wanna be assassin - since it’s now obvious Zack was her target. Hopefully she didn’t get to much info passed on about FOB Panterville or Dreamland.

    The rewrite of Givens brothers history has created some intriguing new twists, Brendan’s connection to Krystal, Zoya, and DEA agent will shake some trees for sure.
