Christmas Angels: A Novel Kindle Edition
A heartwarming Christmas story filled with the magic and miracles of the holiday season by USA Today Bestselling author, Nancy Naigle.
Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair.
When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.
While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Antler Creek—be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?

- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019Everyone has a place that says “home" to them, where just thinking about it brings back all those wonderful memories and the feelings it evokes wrap around you like a warm blanket. For me, it’s my aunt and uncle's place in New England, and for Liz Westmoreland, it's her grandparents' old bed and breakfast in the small town of Angel Creek, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. When her grandparents' lodge comes up for auction, Liz can't resist bidding on it. When she wins the bid, Liz leaves her job, closes up her home in Charlotte and heads to Angels Rest, only to find the inside of the old lodge gutted and an overwhelming amount of work ahead to return it to its former glory.
The locals are excited about Liz restoring the old lodge and welcome her with open arms. They have fond memories of her grandparents and are excited about the tourists a B&B will bring to the area. None is more willing to pitch in and help Liz than architect Matt Hardy. You see, Matt also has fond memories of the Lodge at Angles Rest, especially of the freckle-faced girl who visited every summer and Christmas break.
Whenever I read a book from this writer I know I'm going to get a heart-warming, inspiring, uplifting story that touches my heart with all kinds of wonderful emotions. Matt and Liz's story is exactly that, and I adore them together. Add to that the quaint town of Angels Rest and its lively, quirky, endearing characters and I never wanted to leave. I have no doubt that these characters will endear themselves to you, too, and this story is the perfect read to get you in the holiday spirit. Grab your cozy blanket and hot drink, toss another log on the fire, and escape to Angels Rest today!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019I loved every minute of this delightful read with characters so beautifully written they jump right off the page and into your heart with a wonderful story set in a friendly Appalachian town you wish you could be a part of. I loved the dynamic and sweet friendship and romance between Liz Westmoreland who moves to Antler Creek when she wins the auction of her Grandparent's former picturesque inn Angels Rest and Matt Hardy who contracts to help her restore the inn to its former glory. Nancy Naigle put a smile on my face, warmth in my heart and now I'm definitely in the holiday mood and look forward to reading more from this gifted author. "Christmas Angels" would be a perfect as a Hallmark movie. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019This book will give you those Christmas feels. I absolutely loved Christmas Angels. It is such a sweet and heartwarming Christmas time read. It is perfect to get you into the holiday spirit. Nancy Naigle just brings in this magic to the holidays that you can't help but fall in love with. Matt and Liz are just so wonderful. I love how well they work together restoring Liz's family inn. Matt is so sweet and swoon-worthy with every little thing he does for Liz even when she is having doubts. Liz is wonderful. I love how involved she gets with the small town. She has this heart you can't help but to be drawn to. You feel the chemistry and the fight to act on it between Liz and Matt almost from the start. I love the slow burn and the sweetness throughout. This book is just perfect to kick back and curl up with some hot chocolate on a cool fall/winter day. It is such a wonderful read. Go one click this all you Hallmark lovers out there because that is totally the feels you get. Christmas Angels is a perfect Christmas read.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2019If you haven't read Nancy's books, you are in for a treat. If you have read her books, then this will be more special. There is bits in here about Sand Dollar Cove, Shining Sol candles, the cast and lack of getting around, even about going from high powered career to something you love. I felt like I was reading pieces of Nancy's heart. Loved the small town and the characters. So very glad to see a fixer upper project that means so much. A happily ever after that fits with Nancy's love for Christmas, small towns, friendships, caring about others, and more. Totally recommend this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2023Such a good Christmas story from this author! The romance is sweet and clean. Details and settings really draw you into the action and feelings. I laughed, I cried, and wished the story didn't end. I'm going to find more of her books to read as we head into the holidays!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2024I loved all of it. I think especially to "watch" as she made an old memory come to life and a nice pure love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020I liked the premise of Liz waning to restore and run the inn her grandparents once owned, a place full of fond childhood memories. However, there really wasn’t a lot of romance between Liz and Matt. He helped her restore the inn, but he was being paid to do so, and he was known for helping anyone in town who needed help. Yes, he did more for her than what was planned, and did it because he cared for her, but that seems to be more in line of getting her to stay in town.
It was frustrating to see Liz bounce back and forth about whether she had made the right decision in her personal life, yet she was known at work for taking on one major project after another, without doubt.
I liked how the small town came together to welcome Liz and help her as much as they did, yet it seems unlikely that restoring the inn is the only venue that could bring the town back to life.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2019I loved everything about this book. The relationship that Liz and Matt developed Was amazing and so romantic. Liz learned to believe in her dreams and follow them through. The whole town fell in love with her and I fell in love with the town. This story definitely put me in the Christmas spirit. Angels were everywhere. This is the first book I’ve read of this author and now I’m a fan. I’m going to read another of her stories. I highly recommend this book for an enjoyable holiday read.
