About the author

In her spare time, Tamera Lynn Kraft loves to watch classic movies, drink quality teas, and ride on roller coasters, but not while drinking tea. She does drink tea while writing and working as managing editor for Mt Zion Ridge Press, a traditional Christian publishing company. She has always loved adventures and loves to write historical fiction set in the United States because there are so many stories in American history. Forks in the Road, The Aftermath, Lost in the Storm, Red Sky Over America, Anna’s Christmas Promise, Alice’s Notions, and Resurrection of Hope are among her published works, some of which have won awards.
Tamera has been married for a very long time to the love of her life, Rick, and has two married adult children and the most adorable and smartest grandchildren in the world. She was a children’s pastor for over 20 years. She is now the leader of a ministry called Revival Fire for Kids where she mentors and coaches children’s leaders, teaches workshops, and is a children’s ministry consultant and children’s evangelist. She has written children’s church curriculum including Building Foundations and is a recipient of the 2007 National Children’s Leaders Association Shepherd’s Cup for lifetime achievement in children’s ministry.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2023I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. As I have said before I enjoy the genre of blending facts and fiction, and this author has done an excellent job of doing that. This is a new to me author, but I will definitely be looking for more of her stories. If you enjoy romance and history, I believe you will enjoy reading this story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2022Set in the 1620s, The Seasoning of Elizabella captures the early days of Jamestown, Virginia and the difficult time the settlers faced. Elizabella is content to run her sewing shop in London, but her sister is intent on travelling to Jamestown to find a husband. Elizabella wants to protect her sister, but after a tragic event she accidentally ends up on a ship sailing to America. Miles has lost so much and he wants nothing more than to protect his brother in Jamestown. As the settlers wrestle with the difficult life there, the brides arrive and Elizabella, much to her dismay, is with them. Kraft doesn’t sugar coat the way many of the settlers lived in those difficult times. I appreciate that Miles loves and respects God, as does Elizabella which adds a beautiful thread of hope. With a thorough understanding of the history which surrounded Jamestown, Kraft has written a story historical fiction readers will enjoy. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2023I really enjoyed reading a presale copy of Seasoning of Elizabella. It’s from back in the 1600’s and James Town still pretty new. As in going West girls went on ship for sometimes months to get married in the new land. It was a hard life. Some succumbed from the weather (therefore the Weathering of Elizabella) and the hard life. But then some thrived and saw the the beauty there. Elizabella is one of these girls. It is so interesting and keeps your interest to the end. You really don’t know, unless you peek) how it’s going to end. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2022I really enjoyed reading an advance copy of the wonderful novel about a little known event in history. All opinions are my own. Tamera Kraft has taken this hidden historical gem about a bride ship taking women to the Jamestown colony. Elizabella hides on the ship to escape murderers only to find herself bound for the new world, destined to be a bride. To understand the term 'seasoning,' you will have to read the story for yourself. The author has written a tale that will touch your heart with unexpected resolutions. Details of the event were eye opening and interesting to learn about. I highly recommend you give this one a look if you like historical romance.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2023I took this novel along with me on a vacation, it was so easy to get into it. The characters were well developed as was the setting, and the plot had some interesting twists. I personally found it edifying and satisfying and look forward to reading more from this author!
