Samantha Cole does an excellent job of taking an often misunderstood lifestyle and presenting it in a romantic and exciting manner while also maintaining reality. In other words, as Anders is being trained to be a sub, the reader is gaining an intuitive insight into the real lifestyle.⁣⁣⁣⁣This is an excellent first in a quickly growing series. I found it more entertaining and more realistic than 50 Shades of Grey. I recommend this series and author for anyone who enjoys a good romantic book with a few twists and some well written erotica. As the first book in a new series, this is a great story that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the two main characters, Devon and Kristen and what they brought to the story.     I’m finally getting to read a series from book one! (Okay, I’ve done it before, but not lately, as you can probably all attest to.) I’m already a fan of Samantha Cole’s, so I knew I was going to enjoy this going in to it. I’m glad I was right. Leather and Lace is the first book of the Trident Security series. It’s about a group of hot guys who work for a security agency that are ex-military, are of the kinky persuasion, (Oh yeah, I need a bodyguard methinks.) and protect and defend.

    In this book we have writer Kristin Anders who is writing a BDSM romance. She’s having hot fantasies about her character, Master Xavier, club owner. When she decides to take a break, she goes to an Irish pub for a drink. She sees 6 of the hottest guys she’s ever seen. When her computer fizzles, one of them comes over to fix it, but it’s Devon ‘Devil Dog ‘ Sawyer that catches her attention. He looks like her Master Xavier. Devon and Kristin run into each other again in the BDSM club that Devon co-owns. Turns out he’s a dominant. After a hot how-do-you-do, they decide on a week-end of no strings week-end sex. 3 days, then they part, but will they, or won’t they? And someone has it against the team at Trident. , can they find out who in time?

    This was just an awesome book, and you can bet it will be one I will definitely read again. Very well written with complex characters and enough suspense to keep me hanging. I’m definitely excited for the rest of the series.

    I started backward and actually read the second one before the first. They could both be read as stand alones so it worked out, however I do think you get more out of the story and book starting in order. Devon and Kristen have chemistry, and I loved their steamy moments. The storyline was good and it holds your attention all the way through. I also enjoyed the side characters and want all of their stories. So far, 2 of this series down, and I am now heading to the 3rd and will try to stay in order. This series so far is an enjoyable escape from real life and is easy to read.

    This book starts of hot and steamy and then completely derails into an assassin plot. Both story lines were good, as I enjoyed the whodunnit of the assassin plot and I enjoyed the "let's learn more about a kinkt sub culture" plot, but it didn't really seem like the stories meshed well together. Almost at the very end there was a lot of "heres what happened with that plot line" really quick summary of the many different threads in the story but almost felt like a beta reader simply pointed pit there were loose threads and the author made a check list of plot lines to close up. I did finish the book but it felt like a bit of a slog as I comment quite get into either plot line. I will say the spicy scenes were definitely spicy, and while the actual assasin seemed pretty sloppy, it was an interesting enough plot. I'm not sure if I'm just not as big into books about militaristic romance as much as I needed to be to invest into this story line.

    I love this book! Actually, I love this whole series and all the rest of her books. Kristin is a romance writer. She has written several "vanilla" romance books. However, she is transitioning her focus to write about a BDSM club and lifestyle. As part of her writing process, she visits "The Covenant" for research, the BDSM club owned by retired SEALs Ian and Devon Sawyer and their cousin Mitch. While there, she runs into Devon, whom she had met briefly at Donovan's, a local pub. They are surprised to see the other. They are attracted to one another, and they begin seeing one another. Meanwhile, danger approaches.

    The book has well developed characters and a suspenseful, action-packed plot. The connection between Kristin and Devon builds slowly, but with lots of heat.

    I would recommend this book to anyone who likes steamy, contemporary romance with lots of action and suspense. I know you will love it, too!.

    I loved this book, the perfect mix of suspense, action, danger and smoking hot bdsm sex. Devon Sawyer is one deliciously hot dom and romance author Kristen Anders is a very lucky lady!

    I really liked both these characters. Kristen has moved to Tampa, Florida after her divorce from her cheating husband is finalised. She's struggling for inspiration writing her second bdsm romance novel, when she meets the sexy six pack, aka the dominant ex Seals, the Trident security team (and in particular the tall dark and devilishly handsome Devon). Could he be the one to restore her self confidence and give her a weekend she'll never forget? Or will guilt from his past get in the way of their emerging feelings?

    This is the first book I've read by this author, but it wont be the last. I love a suspense romance, mix in the bdsm, the protective nature of a good dom and super hot chemistry, this is a winner! Looking forward to reading more, a lot more! (Hoping there will be more of Carter.....just Carter too ;-) )
