Until Levi: A Second Chance Romance (Pulsetones Rock Gods Book 2) Kindle Edition
I thought I was done with distractions—until she became my favorite one.
I never thought I’d see Trinnie Dixon again.
Once upon a time, she was the awkward girl with braces and bad hair who sat quietly on the school bus. Now? She’s all curves, confidence, and quick comebacks—the kind of woman who makes it impossible to look away. And the best (or worst) part? She’s my new neighbor.
I came to Key Largo to reset my life. No more late nights, no more meaningless flings, no more distractions. Just me, my music, and the ocean. But then Trinnie crashes back into my world, stirring up memories I didn’t even realize I had.
She swears we’re just friends. I tell myself the same thing. But every time she walks through my door, my resolve cracks a little more. She makes me laugh when I’ve forgotten how. She sees the man beneath the rockstar. And when she looks at me like I’m the only one who’s ever mattered… I start to wonder if maybe, just maybe, I’ve finally met the one woman I can’t walk away from.
She wants to take things slow.
I don’t know if I can wait.
But one way or another, Trinnie Dixon is going to ruin me.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2023What I love the most about K.L. Shandwick's rockstars is getting their story once they are off the stage. They might be gods under the lights of fame and success, but they are very much human and flawed with hunting pasts and raw emotions.
Until Levi focuses on Levi Milligan, the lead singer of Screaming Shadows, as he is back from rehab. He has been battling demons for years, and after spiraling out of control, he is ready to regain control of his life. But the scars run deep, and the past continues to haunt him.
Trinnie is finding her balance as a single mom after getting divorced. She is outspoken, unapologetic, and witty. A far cry from the shy and quirky girl she was in her teenage years. New to the neighborhood, she bumps into Levi, whom she had met way back when.
Despite their evident attraction, they start an unlikely friendship. They take their time to get to know each other while hilariously bickering. The sizzling chemistry is undeniable. Yet, this is a delicious and angsty slow burn. So many layers to peel and wounds to heal. And pasts that keep getting in their way.
Levi's bandmates are the best. In this book, they are more mature and in tune. As always, K.L. Shandwick's characters are complex, and she portrays their issues with utter respect and reverence. Levi and Trinnie's journey is a whirlwind of emotions. Yet, it is beautiful as it is led by true love.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2024Levi and Trinnie's story is great. They make a wonderful couple. The inclusion of Jude and Esther and the rest of the band adds so much to the story. Sadie is a fantastic character and Levi's affection for her warms your heart.
My only complaint is the editing is really bad. Missing words, words that don't belong, misspelling. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star story.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022When we first meet Levi Milligan, he is a somewhat troubled man. An unsettled life, both in childhood and as an adult, often sees him make decisions which are not always in the best interests of himself or those around him. He’s a good person, as evidenced by the loyalty shown to him by his friends and family but has a self destruct button he has a tendency to reach for when things get tough. At a time when he’s determined to turn his life around, to reinvent himself, fate steps in and gives him a push in the right direction.
Trinnie is newly divorced with a nine year old daughter. Strong and independent, she’s got her feet on the ground and is smart and funny and quick witted. She’s been hurt in the past, which makes her weary of starting a new relationship, let alone with a rockstar who has a reputation like Levi’s. I really liked her. She’s a woman who knows how to be soft and caring when it matters and yet is able to stand up for herself and her loved ones when needed.
Despite their very different lifestyles, these two worked perfectly together, slowly building a relationship that was both hot and steamy as well as loving and supportive. However, to say their journey is a bumpy one is an understatement. Life has a few curveballs and bombshell revelations to throw at them before they can find their happy ever after.
Some great supporting characters enriched the storyline further with their banter and camaraderie, (shout out to Sadie!), and appearances by some of this author’s other much loved rockstars were just the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to read more about the lives and loves of these rockers as this series continues.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2022This is the 2nd story in this incredible series, and this is Levi and Gabriella / Trinnie’s journey. Levi is a rock star, whose traumatic past has left him vulnerable, and now freshly out of rehab he is back in his hometown, and as he is taking his daily walk along the beach her bumps into and old school friend, Trinnie. Trinnie has just endured a bitter divorce, and she is a single mom to her 9-year-old daughter. Can these two damages souls heal and complete each other? This is a beautifully written story which is raw, gritty, and an intriguing emotional roller coaster, with secrets, friendships, loyalty, challenges, healing, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2022Like this authors other books, there’s A LOT of words. Too many. I enjoy the premise but I tend to start skipping ALL the words and I don’t feel I miss anything in the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2023I loved getting Levi’s full story in this second book in the series. He’s been through so much and dealing with the burdens all on his own while surrounded by his found family. Going along his journey with him was wonderful, inspiring, and heartbreaking all at once. Trinnie is exactly what he needed. Their whole dynamic is so good. They are so cute and funny and swoon worthy together. Totally meant to be.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2023I am just as thoroughly impressed with this book as I was with the first. The story was well-written and kept me intrigued from start to finish. The characters were well-developed and easy to connect with. Levi’s trauma was heartfelt and relatable. Some people would’ve let such trauma define them and take them down a bad path. Not Levi, though. He took that bad and made himself a better man because of it. Levi and Trinnie’s relationship is so romantic and sweet. They are very supportive of and trusting in each other. I absolutely adore them. There are several layers to this story from the band, the MC’s, etc. But it wasn’t busy or hard to follow at all. It added to the storyline, making it a unique and unforgettable story. I’m not a big fan of the rockstar genre so I was hesitant to start this series. I’m so glad I did! K.L. Shandwick gave me a more in depth look into the rockstar life. I love the strong characters and the chosen family that has formed so far in this series. I was sucked in right from the start and couldn’t put it down. This is an absolute must read, especially for rockstar romance fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Two beautiful souls, I loved Levi and Trinnie
What a wonderful second book in this series about the guys of rock band Screaming Shadows. I'd been looking forward to Levi's road to redemption after meeting him in book one and his rollercoaster of a story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.
I did love Levi a lot, he had a huge, beautiful heart and a lot of love for those he trusts. However, as we saw from his best friend Jude's book previously (Until Jude), he was a troubled man with a host of inner demons to battle. The more we got to know him, we learnt the true extent of his heartbreaking past and the things/people who haunted him, not just from the grave! He had so much to face, to reconcile and close the door on to move forward and his journey was not helped by the few determined to mess with his mind whilst trying to get back what they lost and definitely didn't deserve. I absolutely loved how he grew and matured and not just with the support of his loyal band mates and peers.
Which brings me to Trinnie. What a gorgeous woman with a witty, quick sense of humour and a natural, caring disposition, not overawed by Levi's fame, despite her teeth fascination lol. She had her own issues too, but I loved their banter and how they took things slowly despite their sizzling chemistry and obvious attraction. They were perfect for each other despite the bumpy road to trust, love and happiness they found themselves on.
Until Levi is a long book but it never felt that way. It had emotion, depth, humour, poignant moments, heartache, heat and a real sense of family, love and loyalty. Both main characters grew throughout and dealt with those who would break them with integrity and maturity (high five to Deakon though for doing towards the end what I'm sure anyone who reads this will want to do!!) I loved the chapters The Screaming Shadows were on tour and was very happy to see more of Rick Fars and other beloved rockstars from this fabulous world KL Shandwick has created. Looking forward to what comes next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Levi and Trinnie fighting to find themselves
Once again KL Shandwick, has given us love, struggles, fears, and the fight to find that person who makes us whole, Levi is finding himself after a stretch in rehab, a chance meeting with an old school friend Trinnie gives him something to work towards. Trinnie is newly divorced a single mum, that's getting back on her feet after a bad marriage.
Attraction is high, but caution is around them, can they both work to get what they both desire.
Amazing read once again I just love how KL brings these people alive. A must read

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for book 3!
Enjoyed books 1 and 2 and looking forward to Deakon's story. Fun, emotive and laugh out loud book with serious elements concerning sensitive topics but well written.
