    Annabella Stone launched her career in August of 2019 with the first of her Delta Force Team Panther’s MM Military suspense books. These have now grown to four overlapping series of hot badass spec ops teams and they just keep getting better. In March of 2022 she launched a new series of MF Military suspense teams writing as Bella Stone. And yes, there is some great overlap. Bella may write all of her series as the characters tell her to, but she also draws on family experience to get the details right. She knows of what she speaks.
    Jump to October of 2023 and Bella was asked to contribute an MM short story for a special release anthology. As her characters can get a bit chatty that ended up being a novel that launched her into the PNR world. Her she combines her military knowledge with her heritage knowledge of Irish legend and language and gives us a fantastic new PNR series, Operation Volcano.
    Trace Reeves is a millennium years old shifter who was once the faithful hound of Fionn Mac Cumhaill in Ireland and was chosen to be left behind when the veil between the Fae and Human worlds closed sealing him off from his brothers. He has fought in wars this entire time, protecting humans with his inner wolf Bran. Leaving the special forces after a career-ending injury (for a normal human) he joins CIA operations and ends up assigned to a task with Team Volcano and finds his fated mate and must out himself to the team in the middle of a firefight to save his mate’s life.
    Lots of action, plenty of snark, and an HEA. Can’t wait for book two.

    My favorite shifter story is shifter/human fated mates. This story took that and ran with it in ways I’ve never seen before. The inventiveness of the plot was breathtaking. I also really loved how the author could create an amazing mm fated mates universe where the plot actually rules,: you’re not just reading porn!

    My advice is to stop wasting time reading these reviews and get started on this amazing story. You won’t regret it; I promise!

    I’ll be rereading this story and living for the day Book 2 comes out.

    This book took me awhile to get into. I'm not used to the animal side of the shifter having a different name then the human side and anytime Bran was mentioned I kept thinking he was a separate character. However once I got used to it, I flew through this book and ended up really enjoying it and Bran ended up being my favorite ironically. I'm not sure I'll pick up book two when it releases but I'm glad I picked up this one.

    I’ve read plenty of Annabella Stone novels and loved them all but this was my first time reading a shifter book. I had no expectations and with nothing to compare this to all I can say is wow she didn’t disappoint. I loved the story line and the portrayal of Trace and Bran, who knew a wolf could be snarky? Juice is the perfect mate and I can’t wait to touch base with them all as the series progresses. Please hurry and finish the next book Spring 24 seems such long wait.
