This was a very good story, I found myself hurrying through the pages to see what would happen. it was worth the two or three hours it took me to read it even rushing through it. it was a fun read exciting and not a blooding kill him shoot him up bang bang story just a real good story about a mother and her son taking care of himself and keeping himself alive from some very bad people. It’s a kind of story you want to happen in real life. I really enjoyed reading it. so buy it and you’ll enjoy it too. There were a few bad words in it, but not enough to who that just a really good story and you will be happy with the ending.

Really liked this story. It had relatable characters with honest feelings. Ending was a little abrupt for me but definitely was a good read. Makes you ask yourself how far would you go to keep your family safe? Would you risk everything? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I was attracted to this book because I have a granddaughter named - you guessed it - Kendra Thompson. I honestly was not expecting much beyond the novelty of a character with her name. After all, if a gang wants you and they're big enough, bad enough, and well organized enough, then you're toast. If they aren't any of those things, then a reasonably intelligent person should be able to allude them. Either way the outcome is never in doubt and the only suspense would be in the potential for "near misses" along the way. Granted, there are some near misses in the book (no spoilers there, I hope) but let's just say Christy Cooper-Burnett took the whole thing to another level. The "bad guys" are definitely big, bad, and well organized enough. However, the protagonist is one tough lady who exhibits these traits herself. Now stir in some lucky happenstances along the way and combine it all using Cooper-Burnett's excellent writing skills and you have a well executed fun read that would make a great movie.
