Moving to a new home as a youngster can be an extremely difficult thing to do. Having to make new friends and build fresh relationships can be challenging at the best of times. However, when you add in the natural fragility and uncertainty of youth, the difficulty meter is increased ten-fold.

Considering this, one can only hope that the new home will be friendly and welcoming. However, what if it’s not? Worse yet, what could possibly happen if this new abode is not just “unfriendly”, but is actually haunted by a malicious entity with pure evil in its plans?

In Martin J. Best’s novel, The Baby Farmer’s Ghost, we are able to see just such a scenario in action.

Hang on tight as this promises to be a very creepy ride!

The novel is part of Martin Best’s Ghost Hunter series… but with a twist! In Baby Farmer’s Ghost, we get to see young Carolyn Hunter take the lead. A key part of the other tales in this series, Carolyn has been promoted to a leading role in this work.

Essentially, the story focuses on the Allen family who have just moved into a new home in the area. The eldest daughter, Frankie, is a nervous and vulnerable teenager who had been relentlessly bullied in her previous school. Naturally, she is fearful about what awaits her at this new location. That is until she meets Carolyn Hunter!

The pair quickly form a bond and become inseparable friends. Just what Frankie needed to overcome the past.

Be that as it may, just when everything seems to be changing for the better, Frankie is faced with a new challenge. This time it is in the form of an evil entity that seems bound and determined to create terror and chaos.

Turning to Carolyn Hunter for help, the pair prepare to battle the creature head-on.

Will the young duo be victorious in their quest to drive the unwelcome inhabitant out of Frankie’s life forever? Or have they bitten off much more than they can chew?

Having read all of the previous titles in the Ghost Hunter series, I was unsure and a bit uneasy about what to expect with this one. While I have always enjoyed Carolyn’s character, Mal has stood out as my favorite character. I had potential difficulty seeing him relegated to a secondary role.

I did not need to worry! Carolyn was simply perfect in her new role. She took all of her previous ghost-hunting experience and handled the terror in the house like a pro. I love how the author put her in the role of a strong and realistic female protagonist. Something that is needed in many more books out there. I foresee big things for Carolyn in the future.

The novel is filled with its fair share of terrifying paranormal activity that can make the skin crawl. However, like the other titles in this series, the theme of family, love, and friendship remains the anchor. Everything is connected with seamless and flowing writing that makes for a very believable and engaging story.

A perfect blend that has drawn me to the series like the proverbial moth to the flame.

The Baby Farmer’s Ghost is highly recommended to all readers. The unique blend of paranormal activities with the love and friendship displayed by the characters makes it the perfect reading selection.

Frankie and her family move around a lot, thanks to her parents' business of flipping houses for a profit. Now, however, Frankie's father has promised her they have found their forever home and will move no more. Unfortunately, the house they decided to keep is haunted by an evil spirit.

We're introduced to Frankie's family early on, as they move into the new house. Each of the characters are fleshed out and deep. Clearly defined and likable. Writer Martin J. Best creates an eerie atmosphere and slowly builds to a suspenseful climax. And we get to meet young Carolyn Hunter, a gifted, strong female character who encourages Frankie to move past her mental anguish caused by bullies at her former school and find the strength to take on the malicious spirit haunting her new home.

My only minor complaint about The Baby Farmer's Ghost is that at times the more mundane aspects of the characters' day-to-day actions are a little too detailed. However, his doesn't distract from an overall highly enjoyable story. I recommend it for fans of horror

I was drawn to this book because Martin Best never disappoints when it comes to telling an amazing and very frightening ghost story. But there’s another component to his books that keep me coming back for more. The people who hunt and try to eliminate malicious ghosts are good people. I love their desire to help others who are often traumatized by scary paranormal events.

Spending time reading a book like “The Baby Farmer's Ghost,” keeps me on the edge of my seat, but it also has passages where I feel like I’m in the Hunter kitchen drinking tea and discussing the paranormal.

In this first book of the series, “A Carolyn Hunter Story,” I’m excited by a sixteen-year-old Carolyn Hunter taking center stage. She shows who she is when she meets a girl, Frankie, who’s a year older. Frankie’s spirit has been seriously damaged by peers who bullied her mercilessly. But Carolyn is someone she can depend on, someone who wants to restore Frankie’s faith in life.

Carolyn also wants to help Frankie confront her fears when it comes to an evil ghost who’s haunting Frankie’s house. With the two of them facing a paranormal nightmare and a younger fourteen-year-old brother making the situation even worse, the story keeps you guessing and hoping Carolyn and Frankie have what it takes to be triumphant ghost hunters. It’s a tense thriller with scenes that warm the heart. It’s a story that I highly recommend!

After moving in a new house, Frankie try to fit in. Her family moved twelve times in few years and Frankie had bullied in the school. Rachel, Frankie's mother hired Malachi and Caroline for landscaping. Soon, Caroline will notice strange sounds and sensations in their house. Befriending Frankie, Caroline will have one more mission: to deal with a haunted house.
A slow burn book is getting attention of readers, even actions could move faster. I was impatient to get the point. However, the author present his skills for paranormal stories ghost hunters one more time. Malachi who is always remarkable character and his assistant, a stepdaughter Caroline, a gifted teenager who deal with paranormal things are a powerful team. What is in the house, the reader will wonder till the end.
