This is the first book that I've read from Author Teresa Gabelman and i have to say i really enjoyed it.
The story kept quiet engrossed to the point of really wanting to know what happens next and wanting to slap Damon for being so stupid and yet wanting him to bite me all at the same time. Lol. Damon is a vampire warrior who falls head over fangs for Nicole who is a social worker for foster care. She's kind thoughtful and always thinks and put others before her self. Damon has never met a human or vampire like her.

Being tasked to protect Nicole from a sinister sauce who wants her dead because she's gotten to close to something she didnt even realise was happening till the last minute amungst human and vampire children in foster care Damon tries his best to keep her in line only things don't go according to plan . Nicole is brave strong resilient stubborn hardheaded and only wants the best for those she cares about abd putting everyone else's needs before her own makes it a challenge to keep her protected. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more in this series.

This was agood first in series. Vampires and humans both crave the other's blood to feed addictions. This creates a lucrative industry with human children being turned, and foster parents using vamp and human children to feed habit or fund their banks. Our h is a dedicated social worker trying to protect the children. She becomes the target of a killer. Our H is one of several warriors assigned to protect her and solve the problems. Good world building and interesting, if slightly cliched, characters.

Vampires have always existed but they have only come out within the last year, now there is a consequence that no one had thought of, the children. Suddenly children vampire and normal are in danger as their blood becomes a new drug.
Nicole is a social worker who cares too much about her job, she goes the extra mile and then some for every single child, vamp or human, I admired her fight from the beginning, if you where in trouble this is the person you would want in your corner fighting for you because you know that she would never let go and never give up.
Damon is one of the warriors from the Vampire Council that were attempting to keep the peace between vamps and humans, for all his centuries of living Damon has never found that one person who completes him, his mate, once long ago he thought he had and it went bad, she died and now he is very gun shy. Never mind the fact that Nicole fills his thoughts and his heart and that of all humans she is the only one he can't read he just can't risk his heart again and lose her.
From the first I just loved Pam "If the SOB doesn't let me sit on my well-cushioned butt, I'm going to flop over right here on this mat and die. I didn't see him running, did you?" Her one liners are terrific and she never fails to have one.
Loved Jared too and just know that he is going to get payback sometime, can't wait to see that.
This is the first in the series and I'm excited to read the rest as this one has it all, adventure, romance, mystery and vampires all together in a wonderfully written story that will hold your attention from the first until the very end and most definitely leave you wanting more.

I admired Nicole, shes dedicated to the children she works with and her role as a social worker. Damon annoyed me alot of the time, he was overbearing, too possessive and controlling. It would be nice if Nicole could stand up for herself more and stop letting him use her. Its pathetic. I love the funny dialogue and relationships between the characters, Mitch, Pam and Jared. The only other issue i had was at the end where she slit her wrist, seriously, she couldn't just cut her thumb? oh no, she had to play the victim and have the big strong protector save her life, once again.

Oooh my god what a wicked wicked read I love Paranormal and this book is hot wicked sexy and awesome.

Nicole loves her work where she helps children vamps into there new families.

But there's trouble so the Warriors are asked to come in and help the company Damon holly hotness and the sparks between Nicole and him are off the charts.

But what happens when someone is after her will it all turn out well will things work out for them.

Sworn to protect vampires and humans alike, Damon DeMasters is having a little difficulty with his newest assignment – train and protect Nicole Callahan. They will have to depend on each other to protect the children of both races in this riveting paranormal romance. The author has created a fascinating world of vampires with some interesting and different elements and lots of captivating characters that ensure that the readers want to continue to visit her version of a human / vampire world. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this series as I was completely caught up in book from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next one.

I really enjoyed this book. The concept is compelling, and entertaining. There were already so many positive reviews, so I knew I had to give the author a chance. Being that this is my first time reading Teresa Gabelman, I found that I was deeply satisfied with the strength of her writing. Her characters are strong, inspiring, and each is very well rounded. Readers will find themselves riveted from the start from the innovative new approach she takes to depicting vampires. Gone are vampires that turn into bats with dark widow-peaks, capes, and instead, are hot, muscular, fighting vamps with purpose.

The story begins with Nicole Callahan, a social worker, and vampire advocate. Her job can get tricky—at best, but she is never one to shy away from helping other. As an advocate to the protection and justice of children, she fights to bring those who would harm and misuse them to justice. Many of her cases are delicate, bringing into very dangerous situations. No longer are social workers just helping human children, however, but vampire children too. Many of her cases have brought out the worst in humanity, and it is her job to expose those who seek to use vampire children for wrong reasons.

In Teresa’s story, the world knows vampires exist, and many have found a way to use their blood to get a fix. Crimson Rush has hit the streets, and Damon and his crew seek to find the person behind the craze. Their path finds them in association with Nicole’s boss. With their help, they will seek to find answers and eliminate the source.

Things take a drastic turn when an unexpected hit is put on Nicole’s life. Fearing for her safety, Damon takes the lead in protecting her, and finding who is behind everything. Nicole is less than thrilled to have her life suddenly at the mercy of others, and fights Damon and her boss every step of the way to continue working.

Undoubtedly, Nicole is Damon’s demise. From the moment he see her, he wants to protect her. Knowing their is a hit on her life only brings out the protective instincts more, and he will do everything in his power to protect her. When the heat erupts between him, he is unable to resist her.

From the start Nicole is drawn to Damon. He is tall, dark, and handsome, all the ingredients for a dangerous infatuation. Their relationship is complicated—at best—yet entirely entertaining. Seeking to scratch an itch, Damon falls for Nicole’s charm; however, he is totally unprepared for the intense need she brings out in him. Their love seems impossible, and Damon puts a good effort to stay sane, but ultimately Nicole is his undoing. Small play in the sheets is far from enough for Nicole, and she soon tells Damon that he either takes her as is, or he leaves.

The ending of this story was definitely predictable, yet satisfying. I felt just a little cheated that after Nicole wakes up I did not get to read the final deed—so to say. I wanted her new cravings to really shine, and she finally take Damon as we wanted to see. Of everything, that bothered me the most. What would it have hurt to just flesh out the ending? I’m sorry, I guess I’m a sucker for biting and sucking blood.

My other peeve with this book is that it needed to be longer. A good 5 more chapters could have really fleshed out a few things. I felt as if I did not know Damon and the other vampires very well. Where did they come from? How does their system work? Where do they live? Where were they before being known to humanity of their existence? etc…

In all, this book is an excellent introduction to a new series. Many other characters are brought up that will have books later, and I am excited to get started. Teresa’s books are not terribly long, and they can be read fairly quickly.

Dieses Buch hat mir wirklich gut gefallen . Es ist zwar im üblichen Strickmuster (Vampir Krieger + damsel in distress) gewirkt. ist deshalb aber noch lange nicht langweilig . Im Gegenteil, der Hintergrund der Geschichte ist mal etwas anders, der Schreibstil humorvoll bis witzig. Ich werde mir wahrscheinlich auch alle weiteren Teile kaufen.
