Julia is a former urban assistant superintendent, elementary and high school principal and K-12 special education teacher. Currently, she is an education researcher. She has a passion for creating equitable opportunities for all students and their unique abilities. Julia likes to refrain from focusing on disabilities and instead what abilities makes one unique.
In her personal life, Julia enjoys reading, writing, swimming and dancing. She married the love of her life and the two sought out adventure in Hawaii, the setting of her debut novel. She has two teenage sons and currently resides in Rhode Island.
Julia holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Boston College, M.Ed. in Education from The University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a B.A. in Communication from The University of Texas at Austin.
