FROM TRAGEDY to TRIUMPH
This author did experience major loss and overwhelming grief at the age of 12, as well as mental anguish, confusion, lack of control, and sickness. Lacking the help and support required, especially when it was first needed, she became very sick with a viral infection. Her immune system was compromised, and it mistakenly began to attack her brain, which led to severe illness. Even after she recovered from this terrible disease, she experienced anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues in her teens. She did, however, begin to take control, going on to obtain advanced degrees to help troubled children; she knew that lack of intervention and support could lead to deadly consequences.
Also holding an advanced certificate from the 'Crisis Prevention Institute' (CPI), Mary trained all personnel in her district on Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. She holds a Master of Science in Education, Specializing in Emotional Conflict and Behavior Disorders. She has helped many young people survive their conflicts and move past the trauma. experienced major grief and tragedy in her own adolescence, I understood much of what they were going through. My deep wish was always to help them achieve happiness and fulfillment in their future and to determine their own life stories.
