North Carolina native and writer Munzie LeStrange spends her days hacking away at her latest work in progress – currently, a third draft of the sequel to her debut novel.
LeStrange has published several short stories and poetry in online magazines – ScarletMag and Down in the Dirt, to name a few – but she took the leap into independent authorhood in March 2020 with her first published book, Syphoner, the first in a trilogy called The Syphoner Saga.
LeStrange’s writing roots run deep in magical realism and the minority perspective with heavy doses of horror in any story that flows from her mind. Her style is reminiscent of Stephen King and Octavia Butler with a touch of the dark romance found in television shows like the Originals and Vampire Diaries.
