Shain Stodt was born in New York City.
She has written plays performed in the Ark Theater. While a professional dancer, she wrote and narrated Spirit Of Fire, a biopic of Isadora Duncan that premiered at The Museum Of The City Of New York and aired on public television.
A certified Sex Educator, she founded the popular website The Sex Education Station and published The Little Book Of Honest Answers About Sex.
Shain's first fiction book was a fantasy /horror story for young adults, The Bones Beneath The Flesh, which became a popular podcast.
Her first children's book, Sally Mitts Finds Home (The Story Of A Shy Shelter Kitten), won a Golden Wizard Book Prize, The Literary Titan Book Award, and A Purple Dragonfly Award.
Her second book in the series, Sally Mitts And The Land Of Imagination, has won a Golden Wizard Book Prize, A Readers Choice Award, and A Literary Titan Book Award.
She now lives in rural North Carolina with six rescue cats, and has many animal friends in the woods around her home. She’s working on the next Sally Mitts story while listening to the birds sing and the wind in the leaves.
