I was originally a non-fiction author of early New Zealand history specializing in Southland and Otago. But behind it all, I had a driving passion to write compelling and spooky NZ fiction.
My literary bucket list is to explore every genre (excluding the ridiculous, but we shall see!) and to try out all forms of writing, from ghost-writing, short stories, film scripts, novellas and epic billion page sagas!
The name Mouse is the nickname I was given as a baby, thanks to my big brother's exclamation at my small size when I was brought home from the hospital. The name has stuck well into my adulthood and now, as it was as a child, I'm only called by my real name of Marolyn when being told off or being formally introduced to the queen, which hasn't happened yet, but give it time.
I'm also of Ngai Tahu (NZ Maori) and Irish descent. Though to me, that equates to a true blooded Kiwi mongrel.
