During the last devastating couple of years, I’ve suffered immensely, after having my soulmate ripped from my life by a madman.
Now; finally, I need to get my shit together.
Come and meet Eden; a nanny I employ for the triplets. She's a local I met again, and immediately offered the position. We have a connection, as well as a physical attraction that just won't desist, no matter how many cold showers I endure. Her arrival at the farm also relieves my parents of their continued burden as they help me care for my cute kids, allowing them to follow their dreams and travel around Australia.
I blame the Birthday puppies, all three of them - one for each of the triplets. It’s their fault that my house has been turned upside down. Mayhem is the norm now and life is pretty sweet.
That is until my stupid brother has a paragliding accident and nearly cripples himself. His recuperation at the farm means that I have to return to the city and take over, running the business while he recovers, nursed back to health by my woman.
Then all HELL breaks loose, when I suspect that she’s looking after him too well.
Can Logan and I recover our solid foundation?
I doubt it.
Forgiving their betrayal isn’t easy, and trusting them again is harder. Is it possible, or will I end up alone with nothing but heartbreak, a fractured soul, memories, and my children?
I’m determined to have my happily ever after with my blued eyed, blonde haired vixen. I’ve earned the right to be loved, after what I’ve been through, and she makes me whole again.
Sometimes love is enough, you just have to fight for it.
So be it.
Bring it on.
I finally make it home Friday night, just as the kids are getting out of the bath. Callan hits me first, as I come through the door, scoop up his towel wrapped body, kissing him all over his head and face. “I missed you so much Buddy. Where are the others?”
“Baffroom Daddy. Where’d you go Daddy?” He asks excitedly, as he grips my face in his little hand, making sure that he has my undivided attention.
“Perth Bud. I told you, remember?” I remind him as I walk to the bathroom. “Have you all been good kids for Eden?”
“Nope.” He tells me firmly and I raise an eyebrow at him. “Jake was naughty and sat in the chair.”
Something tells me that it won’t be the last time Jake gets to sit in the time out chair, and I’m not surprised it was him getting into trouble.
“Uh oh…what did he do?” I ask as we round the corner to the bathroom and I hear Alice’s shrieks of delight as she sees me.
“Daddy’s home…Daddy’s home!” She yells happily, even though I’m only three feet away from her, and we’re all in the same room together, so I’m not sure who she’s shouting at.
“Baby Girl…inside voice, remember?” I tell her as she calms down somewhat, and climbs out of the tub, running at me, dripping water as she does.
I quickly snatch up a towel and put Callan down as she flies at my legs, I wrap it around her, lifting her up so that I can kiss her face all over.
“Mmmmm… you smell good. I missed you Sweetheart.” I tell her as I place her down again and start to dry her off with the soft towel.
“Jakey boy. How you doing Buddy?” I ask, looking over Alice’s shoulder as I squat in front of her.
“Wasn’t me, Daddy. I didn’t do it. I’m a good boy.” He tells me firmly, with a nod of his head. So cute!
“What didn’t you do Jake?” I ask him, with a wry smile.
“I didn’t chase the baby cow. Wasn’t me.” He says stubbornly, glancing up to Eden, who’s trying very hard to keep her mouth closed and not laugh.
“Who was it then Buddy?” I ask him, as I dress Alice quickly.
“Dunno. I had to sit in the chair Daddy.” He says as his bottom lip quivers. He knows that the time out chair is reserved for the worst punishment.
