Ten years ago, Mara’s older brother disappeared on a jogging trail just outside of their home town. With no clues and no witnesses, all anyone could conclude is that he ran off. But, Mara never accepted that explanation. She vowed to continue the search despite everyone thinking she was crazy for believing a local legend about a portal to another world that opened periodically in what was known as The Old Oak Archway. Now, after all these years, Mara has found a way through the portal to find her brother. What she didn’t expect was to find her brother living happily as the Champion to the King of the Golden Draygons. Worse, her brother does not recognize her. In the blink of an eye, she is claimed by the king to be his queen and her brother makes it abundantly clear that he is not willing to go home. Before she could convince her brother to come home or convince the king that she wasn’t going to be his queen. The portal is closed and the option to go home is gone. Mara is stuck on a planet filled with dragons and thrust in to a struggle for power every where she turns. In between all of this was Tohr and his desire to win her hand and her heart. Even though she wasn’t sure about him and she had reservations about whether or not she could trust him. She was quickly realizing that when the King of the Golden Draygons made up his mind about something, he would stop at nothing to make it happen.
