A televised New South Wales Police media briefing convinces John that he needs to fly to Sydney to meet with the detective he saw on TV, and he discovers that the detective was serious when he said that public assistance is welcomed. Seeing value in the young sleuth’s mind, John is retained as a case consultant, as they work their way through both evidence and theory, discovering a level of callousness, shocking the seasoned detectives.
