This book describes the life of Joseph Clarke, an Ulsterman from Newbliss, County Monaghan, Ireland. He arrived in Canada in 1914 but when World War I began returned to enlist in the Royal Irish Fusiliers of the Ulster Division of the British Army. He saw action in the Dublin Rebellion of Easter, 1916 and then on the Front in France. After the war he moved to Canada and was President of the 36th Ulster Division Old Comrades Association in Toronto. Later he became Mayor of the town of Englehart, Ontario.
