At the New Jersey Special Care Facility, they take care of long term coma patients - those who hover between life and death. Whether they will revive or not is often a mystery - because the power of the human brain has been barely explored. One of the nursing staff says that the brain healing is 'like the salamander option. A salamander can choose whether to regenerate a missing limb or not. Maybe some humans have the power to repair their brains, some don't and some choose not to.' However, a young professor, working for a large pharmaceutical company, wants to prove that the human brain can be regenrated and he is permitted to use four of the facility's patients for his experiment. But it unleashes some strange and powerful results which have terrible repercussions for both the patients and the scientists.
