At the turn of the 20th Century, the fledgling Practical Cookery Classes in some primary schools were renamed Domestic Economy and they began to be an important part of the curriculum for girls aged 8-12. The new profession of Cookery Teacher decided to create some textbooks for the new subject and we have drawn upon several of those textbooks in order to compile this fascinating book. Over 130 pages of recipes, colorfully illustrated with advertisements of the period.
