Growing up in New England, which is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory is visiting Old Sturbridge Village in MA. It is a recreation of how people lived in the early 19 th c. To be immersed in history, learning about gardening, animals and simple joys encouraged my family to buy a farm in VT and learn to live a simpler life living off the land.
Poems, plays, short stories, cookbooks, grants, newsletters, newspaper articles and now full-length novels. What do you enjoy writing the most?
I love the creative aspect of all those, but full-length novels are my favorite. I can fully explore my character’s personality and growth while bringing in all aspects of the people they interact with, setting and emotions.
What was your full-time job? When did you decide to start writing?
I’ve had several full-time jobs. I worked at the Attorney General’s office, a computer company, insurance company and finally the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford in the Development office. I started writing mysteries in the sixth grade.
What do you love the most about writing stories about redemption and second chances?
Everyone is important and deserves a chance to turn their life around.
Which is your most cherished memory from the days you spent in sunny Florida with your husband enjoying paradise?
We wake up (most days) to sunshine, palm trees and the ocean. What’s not to like?
Grace was an investigative reporter who lost everything because of a story she worked on. Who inspired her character in "Evidence of Betrayal"?
No one and everyone. We all have had losses in our lives. It takes courage to stand up, say enough, take our lives back and stand tall.,
How did you begin writing "KnightGuard Security" series?
I wanted the security company to be run by a woman. Sam Knight is a small woman with a kickass personality.
What sparked the idea for "Evidence of Betrayal?" What were the key challenges you faced when writing this book?
I wanted strong heroines and strong men who were not afraid to be challenged.
Do you have any quirky writing habits or rituals?
Afraid not.
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to take a chance. Fear is the only thing that keeps us from fulfilling our dreams.
Will you write or plan to write any standalone books in the future?
Yes. I have Sam Knight’s story, Evidence of Revenge, that I hope to have published before Christmas. Book 4, Evidence of Deceit, is scheduled for late summer and I have a book in progress for Susan Stoker’s world.
Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
You bet! I love the good ones ��. I’ve had one 3-star and the person didn’t like my heroine. (shrug) You can’t please everyone. I would definitely pay attention to reviews that stated a major problem in the writing of the book.
When you're not writing, how often do you go for birding and photography? What are some of your upcoming projects? When can your readers expect the release of your book,"EVIDENCE OF LIES"?
As often as I can.
