BIOGRAPHY

Dan Burley is a New York-bred writer, musician and artist living in the greater Charlotte area of North Carolina who really doesn't like talking about himself in third person. From a young age, he has had a great affection for crime fiction and even briefly considered a career as a detective or criminal profiler.
However, he ultimately decided writing books about a great detective and his family would prove far less dangerous than personally chasing down monsters.
The jury's still out on whether or not he was correct in that decision.

      • I've been writing as long as I can remember. Once I understood it was a real thing people could do, I knew I had to be one of those people.

      • It's become more fluid. When I was younger, I would sometimes take weeks to write just a couple of pages, but as I've aged, I've kind of had a hard rule that - on a day where I write - I am not allowed to knock off until I have at least six pages. They add up quickly!

      • Sure. I take both in stride. I mean, I like getting great reviews, but I'm also well aware that not every thing is for every person. Some people aren't going to like what I make, and that doesn't bother me.

      • I've never really had any trouble with it. However, I have had to do a lot of research on women's health and clothing. So... simply taking that kind of time is the most difficult thing, but it's worth it.
