What’s your happiest memory from childhood?
I think my fondest memory is of Christmas morning when we were traveling from Oregon to California to visit my paternal grandmother. We had stopped at a rest stop and my mom handed my little sister and I our Christmas stockings to open. That was the highlight of Christmas! I will never forget a passerby who saw what we were doing and stopped to watch lol. I think she enjoyed watching my sister and I open out little gifts as much as we enjoyed opening them.
Were you a big reader as a kid too? If so, what were some of your favourite books then?
I have always loved books. I have strong memories of visiting the public library as a young child. I used to check out Sammy the Seal over and over again. As an older child I enjoyed Beverly Clearly books. As a teen I discovered Louis Lamour along with romance novels. LOL I have an eclectic taste.
At what age did you begin writing your first story? What was it about?
I was 34 when I first started writing. The first thing I ever sold as a writer was a mystery to a suspense and mystery magazine. It's titled Return to the Unknown. It's available to read for free on my website.

What is there to see and do in Iowa?
I've never been to Iowa. I spent most of my life in Oregon. There is so much to do there! There are Mt. Hood and Mt Bachelor where you can ski, inner tube, snow shoe, hike, mountain climb etc... Oregon is absolutely an outdoor enthusiast paradise. We also have lakes and of course the coast. As far as culture goes, the larger cities have performing arts. If you like to go antiquing there are tons of towns with that sort of thing. I actually wrote a magazine article several years back about Salem Oregon and all the things there are to do there. It was published in the More to Life Magazine.
Since how long have you been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers?
I joined when I first started writing. I think that would make me a member for approx. 18 years. Wow, where did the time go? I can't believe it's been that long!
What is the significance of the title of your novel, Certain Threat?
Each book in this series has a threat. So each book has the word Threat in the title. Certain Threat has a very clear threat, so "certain" fit. :)
Who inspired the character of bodyguard Sally Wilson in "Personal Threat"?
I don't think she was inspired by anyone in particular. I needed another female character so she was introduced earlier in the series. She intrigued me so I wanted her to have her own story.
Why do companies use brain teasers and logic puzzles as an interview screen?
I have no idea. Maybe to see if a person can think for themself. :)
What life lessons has writing taught you?
Patience. I've also learned to express myself better and be more open about my faith.
Audio book vs e-book vs printed book, which one do you prefer and why?
I love audiobooks. Since I'm on the computer a lot, my eyes need a break. An audiobook is the perfect solution. I still get to enjoy a story, and I'm not straining my eyes. Next I like ebooks because I can make the font as big as I need it to be and my ereader is lighter to hold than many books. I once was given a huge book to read. It was seriously heavy for a fiction book! I couldn't hold onto it for more than a short while without irritating my wrist and fingers, so I ended up buying the ebook and reading it that way.
What is the best piece of advice you could give someone about life?
Don't take yourself too seriously and remember what is truly important. For me that is my faith in the Lord.
What TV programme have you rediscovered and started watching since lockdown?
I love the oldies like Perry Mason. I am not one to rewatch shows but I watched Perry Mason originally more than 20 years ago so it's like watching them for the first time all over again.
What are you currently working on? May we know when we can expect a new book?
Thanks for asking! My next book will be released on May 15th. I co-wrote this one with Miralee Ferrell. It's called Love Finds You in San Antonio. This book is also a movie. We are unsure where and when it will air. I am currently writing a Christmas novella that I hope to have ready for release in either September or October.
