I was born in Iowa but raised all over the world because my dad was in the military.

I’m not sure it has had any impact on my writing, but I do enjoy creating stories with the characters being from some of those areas.

In 2017 I published my first book Colton’s Salvation. I wrote it after I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing.

As a kid I always said I’d live in Texas one day and here I am. I love living here.

Initially the first book in that series was going to be my second book. It was the story of a veteran who got out of the military and started a band with his brother and two friends. It ended up going on the back burner when I realized Colton would become a series. The Straight Wicked series isn’t just a rock star series, it deals with everything from death to addiction.

That book is Logan’s story and he is the bass player. So I thought it was a funny play on words.

That not everyone is perfect. My characters have flaws and though they are fictional, they may be broken but not irreparable.

Ahhhh this I can’t tell you without giving away a major part of the storyline. Instead, I will tell you that the little dog in the story is my real life Chihuahua/Poodle mix, Gizmo.

Being able to write in such a way that it pulls the reader into the scene.

LOL… that would be a no.

Cry… no seriously, I try to walk away from it and when the characters start talking again, I go back to it.

Initially, I thought my only option was to be traditionally published. I didn’t realize that over half of the books I read were self-published.
