      • As long as I can remember I have been creating stories in my head. When my midlife crisis arrived in my forties, I started putting pen to paper. I've studied and worked hard at learning the craft of writing. Writing gives my such joy that once I started i haven't been able to stop!

      • Writing can be full of emotions. I write memoirs so it can be doubly so. Don't give up. Find a critique group and let them give you feedback. Read the others works and give them your opinions. Take classes in how to write. Study the craft and apply it to your work. Accept criticism gracefully. All these things will help you become a better writer.

      • When I won the award at the Royal Palm Literary award for my memoir, A Bittersweet Goodnight, I cried. I couldn't hold it in and tears streamed down my face while I stood on the stage to accept it. It is so exciting when people tell me how much they loved my story. It makes all the hard work worth it.
