Where were you born? Since how long have you been living in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains in Calgary?

I was born in Durban, South Africa, and moved to Canada in 1998, and a few years living near London, England.

Do you remember the first book you ever read?

My Dad would often read to me, and our favorites were by Dr. Suess, especially Green Eggs and Ham.

Do you remember the first book you picked up to read? What was it about?

The first books I ever read were those by Enid Blyton, such as The Folk of the Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair, and Famous Five.

Who is your favorite romance author?

Favorite romance author is Georgette Heyer – I love the Regency period.

What is the most ideal ambiance for you to write in?

I like to write in a sunny room, or outside in the sun, with just the sounds of nature.

Who inspired the character of Melissa Hewitt in "Moondance"?

Melissa Hewitt is the one character that I based on myself!

How do you feel about the shift of readers from physical books to digital ones?

I love reading physical books, but I think digital books opens up a world of reading for people who did not read much before.

If dragons existed, would physics allow them to fly?

Absolutely! They have an incredibly large wing span, and porous bones that do not weigh them down.

What is something that you read recently and is worth sharing?

The Secret, by Elizabeth Hunter

What qualities make for a good cup of coffee?

I drink my coffee black, and enjoy a dark, rich roast.

How can one improve his/her writing skills?

I think the key is to keep learning. Reading books about writing, taking masterclasses, and learning from other authors are all important to growing as an author.

What is your most favorite dark chocolate brand (80-85% cacao and above)?

I love dark chocolate – around 80%. Any Belgian chocolate will do!

How many plot ideas are just waiting to be written? Can you tell us about one?

My mind is brimming with plot ideas! One of these as already been turned into a new book which launches in June - Into the Shadows. Unrest is simmering in Valoria, a land where once dragons and people lived in harmony. That changed when King Valor turned against the Ancients and wiped out the entire clan. Only one survives, and she is eager to use the unrest to punish the descendants of King Valor. Caught in her plan are Lady Snowlark, one of the descendants, and one of the soldiers she has raised to carry out her plans.
