      • Unfortunately, due to the proliferation of technological and social media, the younger generations are less connected to the literary arts. That doesn't mean they aren't artistically-inclined. Television and social media memes are art forms that have exploded with creativity and have artistic merit. Nonetheless, I'm afraid they lack the subtlety and thoughtfulness of the literary arts. My fervent hope is that the infatuation with easier to access audio-visual arts will give way to a return to the richer treasures of novels and poetry.

      • That's a tough question. No two artists are exactly alike. I've certainly been influenced in different ways by masters such as Graham Greene, Kirin Desai, Mordecai Richler, Norman Mailer, and John Le Carre. But, if forced to choose, I'd say my work has the most in common with Graham Greene.
