I’m from California. I love a good mystery and if you toss in some romance I’m hooked. This works in all forms of art; from music to movies.

I’m a journalist and a novelist, two sides of the same coin if you ask me.

I like writing drama, suspense and romance; including crime, mystery and relationship semantics.

You’ll catch me reading a book or listening to music on any day. Believe me, it’s hard not to annoy me when I’m really in a moment with either, but I still love a good distraction.

      • I think it depends on the upbringing. I know some teenagers and even younger kids that love reading, while others dread it completely.

      • I’ve developed more understanding of how to think like my character. I used to write poetry and it was mostly my thoughts and that alone. Now that I have to think like someone I’m creating, it requires more diving outside of my own head.

      • Sometimes things in my real life find their way into my writing. Whether it be an event that happened or something I said to someone or that was said to me, or even something that happened to myself or another person I know. Sometimes writing from experience helps to develop the story more deeply.

      • I have brothers and male friends, but I will never fully understand what’s going on in their minds. I won’t fully know why they say or do some of the things they do. All I can do is try to imagine and use what I’ve observed. This probably makes the men in my stories not as accurate, but everybody is their own person, even the ones I create.

      • Around 15 years ago I started writing poetry to help get out of my own head. Then a few years later I started working on a story. It popped in my head one day and I thought it would be cool. I tend to watch a show or read a book and get a spark of inspiration to tell my own story. I’d said officially I’ve been writing stories off and on for about 10 years, but professionally, it just started a month of so ago. I write journalistically, but that’s a separate realm of writing.
