BIOGRAPHY

RJ Luce worked as a wildlife biologist for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department for thirty years. During this time, his work involved conducting surveys of songbirds, small mammals, elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, and moose on the ground or from small planes or helicopters, often in the backcountry. He also traversed hundreds of miles of caves and abandoned mine tunnels while conducting bat surveys. Additionally, he backpacked the 820-mile-long Arizona Trail and hundreds of miles of mountain trails in Wyoming. His varied experiences with wildlife, hunters, and wild country are woven into... his mystery novels.

RJ has authored several technical wildlife publications and written articles for Wyoming Wildlife Magazine, other outdoor magazines, and newspapers. After retiring in 2004, he began writing neo-western outdoor mysteries set in Wyoming, Arizona, and New Mexico.

RJ currently lives near the San Pedro River in Arizona's San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. He frequently hikes and hunts in the Sky Island Mountain ranges of Arizona and New Mexico, as well as other locations throughout the West.
