      • Yes, I have and I believe most if not all writers find themselves there at one point in time or another. When I find myself there, it is usually when I have been really pushing myself on one or more project at a time or trying to meet a publishing deadline. I find that just stepping back for a moment and sometimes even a day or two, helps me to refresh my thoughts and emotions, and then I am able to move forward.

      • Yes. I was telling stories at the age of 5, to my brother and sister as we traveled with our military parents. I knew someday that was what I wanted to be. I would watch 'The Waltons' every week because Johnboy was a writer. Years passed and I became a truck driver, yes a truck driver, ha, ha, ha and heavy equipment operator until my mother became ill and I had to come off the road and go home to care for her. Late one night while caring for her, I found a site online called poetrysoup.com and I joined and began to write. It just flowed out of me and I reconnected with my love for writing. I published my first book a year later.

      • Yes, I read my reviews and take them with thought and grace. If you can't be open to hear what your public says about your work, maybe you should not share it, But then again, there are those who never do and do just fine. It makes me think of Blondie, the singer who said, Quote: " I don't listen to or watch my own music or videos." I personally feel that good, bad or indifferent, reviews are the tools that make us great writers and without a review, we never know just how good we are or can be.

      • This is so true and many times as I was co-authoring in the Domestic Violence anthologies it was like living it all over again, and sometimes it was days before I could even go back and edit it because of the emotional aspect of it. I found that healing came from hearing my story being spoken aloud for a change; it wasn't hidden inside of me anymore and the world wasn't a place for me to hide all I had suffered but a place to share it so I could heal with support. I think any time we write, we drain ourselves because of the high - energy we spend as creators. I took me 3 months to write one story once because of having so much to say and realizing my hands cannot type as fast as I think, and no matter how upset I may have been over that, it didn't change a thing ha, ha, ha; it still took me 3 months to complete it. Just having patients with yourself is the best advice I could give. Sometimes a day away from it, makes a big difference.

      • My first published book would be the one I would want to redo, The Butterfly Flutters By and someday soon I may. There is so much more I would have loved to have added to this beautiful poetry book and I would change the way it looks inside. This book was a teacher in many ways. I will never publish the same way again and I think most authors don't. You grow and things change as a result of it.

      • Yes, many of the co-authored books I have written in are my own personal stories about what I have been through at one time or another in my life.
