I have a memory of my childhood but it was not simple. You can start with a poor family of 5 with Dad trying to work hard to support us as a Fireman. Well it did not work, and he gave up when I was 8 and killed himself. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I was interested in professional baseball or public relations. The Vietnam war got in the way and I entered the Army at the age of 18. I scored very high in leadership and so many Army Officers were being killed in Vietnam, with that I received a Commission as a Lieutenant in the Army at the age of 18. At the time, I was the youngest to earn commision becoming an Infantry Officer. What does your family think of your writing?
They like my dedication in trying to get it right and to write something others will want to read. What are some of the most profound "shower thoughts" you've had?
Writing about the Mafia and the circumstances that took place. What challenges did you face while publishing your novel, Thread: A Story Like No Other?
I wanted to get a traditional publishing deal, however I also needed reviews so I added Amazon to get those needed reviews. I was then contacted by three Publishers who had read Thread and wanted to publish it. When I added Amazon they all backed out for that reason. Very disappointing to me.What comes first, the plot or characters?
I Thread I wanted to get the characters out first so that the reader will care when it comes to the plot.Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Thread was written as a story derived from my life experiences. Telling my story was important to me.What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
I write when I feel the need to get my thoughts on paper. What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?
Research is important and I will travel to a place I am writing about so that the reader sees the whole picture. What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer?
My story is different from anyone else, I pretty much stay to myself.Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Writing does energize me, I like what I put on paper or it does not get written.Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
Originality makes a book special, not just another story. However you must find the right balance and always keep in mind what the reader wants. How many plot ideas are just waiting to be written? Can you tell us about one?
I am continuing the story of Kyle Stone, my protagonist. How has your experience of being associated with AllAuthor been?
I have enjoyed Allauthor, they seem to have the tools for the writer. I am always looking for marketing opportunities
