Formerly an astronomer and more recently a research project manager working in a defense and aerospace company, Vaughan Stanger is now a full-time writer of science fiction and fantasy. His thirty-nine published short stories have appeared in Daily Science Fiction, Abyss & Apex, Postscripts, Nature Futures, and Interzone, amongst others, and have been translated into seven foreign languages. Vaughan is a member of the British Science Fiction Association and the British Fantasy Society. He has attended the Milford SF Writers Conference five times and is a first reader for submissions sent to Albedo One magazine. Later this year, he is co-curating an evening of near-future fiction readings for Virtual Futures. Vaughan expresses his concerns about the future in his fiction, but still craves the holiday on the Moon he remembers being promised as a child.
