Homo Tempus: A Journey Through Time and Humanity
Homo Tempus is a thrilling blend of science fiction and deep philosophical exploration that will make you rethink everything you know about humanity’s future—by looking back at our past.
In a world where the boundaries between time, evolution, and survival blur, Wallace Vidal, a young and aimless librarian, is thrust into a future ruled by Neanderthals. What starts as an accidental time travel adventure quickly turns into a race against time itself. Wallace must navigate a collapsed society, battling not only his own inner turmoil but also the mysterious forces that led to humanity’s downfall. The twist? He’s not alone. Neanderthals, stronger and more intelligent than history told us, hold the key to survival.
Guided by the groundbreaking insights of Alysson R. Moutri, a scientist known for pioneering Neanderthal brain organoids, Homo Tempus redefines the possibilities of human evolution. This fast-paced, action-packed journey explores how understanding our ancient roots and embracing neurodiversity could reshape our future. Alysson is preparing to a big journey to space with SpaceX.
As Wallace unravels the mysteries of the past and future, readers are taken on a ride through time, philosophy, and the consequences of ignoring the lessons of history. Homo Tempus challenges us to confront our own place in the world, urging us to learn from our ancestors—not just to survive—but to thrive.
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure that will have you questioning everything about where we’ve been—and where we’re going.

Book Homotempus received preface by Alysson R. Moutri the scientist who created brain organoids with a gene that belonged to Neanderthals. Alysson says: “Homotempus is an invitation to reflect on how we are shaping the future of civilization. It reminds us not to ignore our ancestral knowledge of the world, sometimes hidden in symbolism that we might not fully comprehend. It also alerts about respecting our neurodiversity, often overlooked in modern days. Thus, this is not only a fantastic science fiction story but also a moment to pause and learn about human nature”. This book tells the story of Wallace Vidal, a young librarian who, lost in his own existence, accidentally travels through time and is caught - in the future - by Neanderthals. Now, his objectives are to escape and to understand what caused our society to collapse, all while desperately trying to reverse his mistakes in this future that he doesn’t understand. To do this, he needs to survive on a long journey, where he’ll need to rely on the help of all those that he meets, be they Neanderthals or Sapiens. With a flowing narrative and fast-paced dialogues, Homotempus is a futuristic dystopian novel that is based on the most recent paleontological studies. Ideas from contemporary philosophers and primitive symbolisms are used to portray the human learning cycles that are needed during life and the consequences that ignoring them brings, both for the individual and for society. #DNA #Neanderthals #Ancestors #CivilizationHistory #BriefHistory #Sapiens

About the author

AUTHOR
F.E. Jacob was born in the “prehistoric” year of 1978, is a Production Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Economic Policy. He’s been reading as much as a Neanderthal ate, ever since he was a child and would devour any book, article or comic book that passed under his nose and became an adult that is focused on the issues present in today’s society. He considers himself to be a “generic nerd” that is addicted to information, constantly reading everything about ancient societies, economics, physics, political science, psychology, biology and any other area of human knowledge. He estimates that 3.22% of his DNA is of Neanderthal origin, which may explain his great appetite for knowledge. One day when he woke up he realized that the only activity that will make it possible for him to use his knowledge about different subjects would be literature, which has always been by his side, in the form of a patient and silent companion that was awaiting his decision to take on the challenge of writing professionally. And so, he now makes his debut in the literary universe with Homo Tempus.F.E. Jacob is member's 032 of International Academy of Brazilian Literature.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2023Found this book to be very original. There have been many books on Time Travel but none featuring a future where the elites have created a hybrid race of Neanderthals to function as repressive "thought police" as with the Social Bureau as in this tale. Sort of reminded me of Philip K Dick's "The Minority Report."
The lead character, Wallace, faces many obstacles along the way and bonds with the inhabitants of this future he finds himself thrust into. Nice job of fleshing out the characters.
I also love the way the author threaded comments on social norms and present absurd beliefs, such as the current craze of a vegetarian diet, could be taken to the maximum point of meat only being available to the elite on the black market.
Love this quote : "As people feel full of rights , they don't realize their simple rights as free will and free pression. Life has been dehumanized in the name of social welfare."
Lets just hope this does truly foretell of our future.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2023The author provides an interesting futuristic scene. A fact is information minus emotion. The opinion of author is information plus experience. The author’s point of view is clearly an indication of our society today. And the author clearly evaluates today’s affairs and past experiences to define the future. Wallace travels into the future to the year 2095 where he finds society’s quite unpleasant way of governing. He then travels back in time where he meets the Neanderthals. He questions the fact that the Neanderthals were extinct during his time in 2018. It is brought to his attention that Neanderthals DNA was extracted from fossils and then cloned.
Everything in this book is a realm of logic. Our technological success as Homo Sapiens is not necessarily interpreted as a better future for the humans. I think this book is well done and well appropriated for the Homo Sapiens. The author defined what would likely to transpire in the future based on what we see today and what transpired in the past. I would like to see this author write more about what not to do in order to avoid a dystopian future.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2023This book shows a post apocalyptic story in a way where the government with clone regeneration, geno experimentation have destroyed the world we know today.
While I see our advancements today leading us to the time just before tribulations, this writer sees a different road.
I loved the story and found it interesting and exciting to read. The time travel made this book so good reminded me of previous novels and TV shows on the subject but with a more futuristic twist to it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2023This book is a modern version of the ghost visit fairy tale we all head as kids, it is stunning how the author mixes past, present and future. The most amazing part in this boom is how you can see things happening TODAY, you get goosebumps because you wonder: is it fiction or reality. Definitely worth 5 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2023This science fiction book explores the use of Neanderthal DNA in the rapidly decaying modern world. The main character travels through time and meets Neanderthals, both in the future and in the past. The book is translated and published in at least four languages, but one problem in this version is the time: one can tell a story in present tense, or in past tense, but not both, it drives the reader crazy. Nevertheless it's a good book, very entertaining.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2023This books tells a riveting story of the fictional fate of the future. I keeps you guessing of what will happen next. It gives an interesting view of technology and its possible control on social liberty. It dives into food order. Could you imagine a life without meat? It is definitely a turn page turner. I could put it down wondering what would happen next. Definitely would recommend it to anyone.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2022A brilliant story by the author, F.E. Jacob! This futuristic dystopia kept me intrigued from the beginning to end. It also gives the reader aspects of what our own future may turn out to be.
In this science fiction fantasy, I especially enjoyed the main character, Wallace and all the adventures of his time travel, along with the other characters he encounters.
If you're looking for thrilling new read with great storytelling, don't pass this one up. A strong five for this gem! 👏

5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gem
The radio announces experimental group have caused disturbances within the earth's magnetic field. On his way home from work, Wallace encounters a strange light and the distraction causes him to accidentally fall from his bike into the light. Confused and disorientated, he don't know where he is... The adventure begins!
A look into the future where constant increases in technology and science has backfired and whilst the years have moved forward, everything else has stopped or moved backwards. Systems that controlled most things malfunctioned and people had forgotten how to live. They find themselves in a situation where going back to basics, using books to help gain valuable information that had previously been done by technology.
A fantastic time travelling book, fast paced, well written and a plot that is delivered really well as it goes full circle, drawing the readers into difference years and drastic changes. Very thought provoking, as you peek into a world of futuristic fiction..... but is it?
Congratulations to the author, great imagination!
