About the author

I was born in Weehawken, NJ, raised in Wayne Township, NJ, then carted off to Cleveland, Ohio. No offense to those in Cleveland, heck, I'm still a Browns fan, but I lived a 'Leave it to Beaver' type childhood in Wayne and have many fond memories of that part of my life. My love of writing started when I was twelve. My sister of five and her friends wanted to put on a play for their parents. She asked me to write a script for them. I did; after a crowd-pleasing performance in our basement, the bug hit me. My creative juices bubbled over, and I've been writing short stories and novellas ever since. All that bubbling simmered when I enlisted in the USAF in 1971. Being a part of an F-4 Fighter squadron as a Life Support Tech holds fond memories for me. Four years later, I was a civilian again and spent the next year traveling the country in my 1968 lime-green Plymouth Duster. Entering Victorville, CA, I found a job at a finance company, repossessing cars and such. The manager introduced me to his sister, and WAM!! I was hooked. Two months later, I was married another month I became a prospective father. Forty-five years later, we're still happily married with two daughters, a granddaughter, and a grandson. Gayle and I are inseparable! I acquired a BA degree in History from Cal State San Bernardino during these years of wedded bliss. The degree came in handy when I decided to go back to writing in earnest. As a result, I began a series of historical mysteries based during the Jazz Age. The team of Sherwood (Woodie) Garth and the recently married couple Major James and Anneka Mallory became the MG&M Detective Agency. I was fortunate enough to be offered a contract from The Columbine Publishing Co. for a series of novels. I started with The Greek Coins Affair and worked my way up to number nine, The Missing Heiress Affair, I am in the process of writing number ten. And, I keep on writing! Now, we live in El Mirage, AZ, (back to my small town), where I love to garden. I've built a small village in my backyard where the Boogie Bears, Bunnies, Frogs, and Leprechauns live. I also enjoy hiking, bicycling, pampering my Dachshund, Cookie, following the AZ Diamondbacks, the CA Angels, and the Cleveland Browns. I spend my Sunday mornings at two different churches the Westside Church of God in Glendale, AZ and Christ Church if the Valley (CCV). At which I belong to a men's group that serves the community.
