George F. (Frank) Klein was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His father and mother loved the outdoors and took their family of four boys on many weekend camping trips which instilled a love of the outdoors in Frank. He grew up, met the love of his life, Virginia Schluterman, married her and they had four children, a son, and three daughters. His children have blessed him with four grandkids and three great grandkids. He worked at an international printing company as the maintenance supervisor for thirty-five of the forty years he spent there before retiring. Frank volunteered as a Fort Smith Reserve Police Officer for seven years and was on the Combat Pistol team where he won several trophies. Frank never lost his love of the outdoors and became both an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He has roamed the forests and mountains in the middle western part of the state all his life. He had four very close hunting buddies with who, in 1978, he went together and brought a piece of land near Mt. Magazine in Arkansas. They built a cabin on the land and many are the good times they shared. His writing is about places he has actually been and things he has actually seen and done. He is a deer and turkey hunter using rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, and bow. He also spends time using a camera to take pictures of the beautiful Arkansas mountains and forests.
