Susan Lodge was born in England's West Country and spent her first years getting lost in trees, caves and orchards. Leaving home at eighteen she headed for London and embarked on a career in the Civil Service, gaining a Science degree along the way. A romantic story, purchased by a national magazine, was her first writing success and gave her the confidence to seek out a publisher for her novels. She has written both contemporary and historical romance but has always held a passion for the Regency period where her latest novels are based.
