The long overdue redress is underway: women are the readers and the writers of most of the successful books in ebooks and on the bookshelves. Genres are very successful for woman, especially fantasy/romance ala Sarah Maas. Then this old white man comes riding in in his rusty armor, saying there are still those who still long for John D McDonald, and tend to read the male POV books written by men. Lesser Man is that. Flip the macho male though. I read Mickey Spillane back in the day (12 years old) but never bought into that male, and the man just couldn't write. He was the Genre writer's equivalent of the "garage band.' Give me a Grisham or King title anytime (Steven and Sky.) Lesser Man is a homage to beach bums everywhere. Are there any?
