When she returned to the dock, she was soaked to the skin, smelling like fish, and mad as a wet hen.
Doug laughing at her did nothing to improve her mood.
“Unless you want to end up in the lake I’d wipe that smile off of your face!”
“I’m sorry, Sam.” He tried to quit smiling but to no avail. “I’m a little worried about Adam. He should’ve been back by now. Would you go up to see if he’s having trouble?”
“Do you have a something I could borrow to wear?”
“Yeah, but you’re going to swim in them.” He chuckled.
