BIOGRAPHY
George Cavallo is a former U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer who spent two decades serving on the front lines of search and rescue. After retiring as a Warrant Officer and Marine Inspector, he turned his focus to the arts—combining his love of photography, storytelling, and painting to capture the grit and humanity of those who serve.

He is the author of Sharks and Daisies: Tales of a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer and Top Fin: Master Chief Darell Gelakoska’s Tales of Courage and Chaos, both celebrating the courage, humor, and resilience of the Coast Guard aviation community.

When he’s not writing or painting, George can be found photographing vintage aircraft, exploring the Pacific Northwest, or sharing sea stories with fellow Coasties.
