However, his mission to find a place to hide permanently got interrupted when he met Maxine and Jodi campo-Weber in London, England. They were a married couple living a relatively normal life with their children, and they had to hide who they were just as much as Martino did. This caused them to want to do everything in their power to keep him safe. But that proved to be a far more difficult task than they were anticipating. They knew they could lose everything by hiding him, but are willing to take the risk, no matter the cost. This gave Martino something he never had before: true friendship.
