Book Overview
What does an armed robbery in London’s Charing Cross Road in July 1972 have to do with a meeting held in Vienna thirty-five years earlier?
What connects the wartime survival of a Jewish man who worked in the offices of the Chancellor of Austria to the murder of a Catholic priest some twenty years after the end of the Second World War?
What has the slaughter of three hundred Nama tribe folk at their settlement in Namibia got to do with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations?
And why were the remains of Martin Bormann, Hitler’s personal secretary, not discovered until December 1972, buried near Berlin’s Lehrter station?
Former British spy Jack Price knows the answer to all these questions, and is willing to die to keep the secret. The problem is... he’s not the only one who knows.
It’s the lies that are not heard, but kept as secrets, that own us all.
BIOGRAPHY Daniel Kemp is a seventy-four-year-old member of The Society of Authors as well as a bestselling author on at least five Amazon internet sites.
His introduction to the world of espionage happened at an early age when his father was employed by the War Office in Whitehall, London, having returned from WWII where he spent time interviewing Axis troops after Italy surrendered.
However, it wasn't until after his father died that he showed any real interest in anything other than himself!
On leaving academia he took on many roles: a London police officer, mini-cab business owner, pub tenant and licensed London taxi driver, but never did he plan to become a writer.
A road traffic incident dramatically changed all of that. It left him suffering from PTSD and effectively--out of paid work for almost four years. During the time he had, he wrote and self-published his first novel --The Desolate Garden. Within three months of publication, that book was under a paid option to become a $30 million film. The option lasted for six years until distribution became an insurmountable problem for the production company and the option was dropped.
He was head-hunted by a publishing company, under whose Creativia publishing banner, The Desolate Garden went on to become a bestselling novel in World and Russian Literature in 2017. The following year, in May 2018, his book What Happened In Vienna, Jack? was a number-one bestseller on four separate Amazon sites: America, UK, Canada, and Australia.
To date May 2023, he has written ten books. There are two series of four: The Heirs and Descendants Series, and The Lies and Consequences Series, along with two novellas: Why? A Complicated Love, and the intriguing story titled The Story That Had No Beginning.
Although he announced his retirement from writing when MyTruth, Your Lies was published, at the beginning of 2023, he has started writing a novel that takes him away from his usual areas of comfort to tackle a grey area inside his mind that if he is successful will exercise a few ghosts hiding in there, and just perhaps, make his departing journey a bit easier.
