Wings of the Sathakos (The Sathakos Trilogy Book 1)

Antithion Jarvis has lived his entire life in service to the Chassan empire. He's fought, he's bled, and he's risked death and torture time and again. All he wants in return is to be left alone. No family. No kids. No loved ones. Jarvis has a life of service and solitude, and it's just the way he wants it.
But when the Emperor is assassinated, Jarvis must take responsibility for the Empire's only heir; a naive, spoiled, and juvenile prince. They go into hiding to escape the conspirators in the palace and the legendary assassin who's coming for the prince, but they can't hide forever. A civil war is brewing that could leave the prince without a throne to go back to. And even that is nothing compared to the hungry and hateful legions of dragons that have chosen an unfortunate time to emerge from self-exile.
Jarvis and the prince will have to gather some allies if they're going to get things back to normal. A fun-loving young hunter and a morose monk with magical powers he can barely control turn out to be the best they can find. It's a motley crew, but it'll have to be enough. Failure means the downfall of the Chassan Empire, and Jarvis will do anything to keep that from happening.
Wings of the Sathakos is the first book in the Sathakos trilogy.
